It looks like you would want at least 1680x1050 at least. I am not sure if your laptop can handle that resolution, if so give that a try. It will definetly look bad if your at 1024x or 800x600. It looks like that laptop was only available with WXGA and WXGA+ screens. for CAD its best right now to have
WSXGA+ or WUXGA monitor. But try and turn up the resolution and see what that does.
