I have test tools, did not see anything in flowchart to trouble shoot the Millivolt ignition module based upon the IO error. Obviously an experince base you have would tell this!!
So I assume test both the IO error and the IF error paths, and replace parts baced upon this answer. Would this seem correct?
Yes, i will be careful, used to do A/C repair, have been bit before!

Please find above your installation and service manual, this has all you need to be able to service and repair your unit.
If you have a perceived "Igniter" problem, replacement is really the only test. They are simple to install and replace. However you MUST first ascertain if it is the actual ignitor, and/or the Millivolt Ignition module, (always suspect) If you have no instruments, then the only way is the empirically swap and test.
BE CAREFUL, as with any gas appliance, my professional advise must be for you to get a professional to attend to this issue, and if you do decide to do this, then also obtain a "Quote" before allowing any repair work to be undertaken.

The BD code means bad board. Just wanted to let you know that. And the IO error is an input output error. Which could be the igniter. But with the bad board error I would say that the control board is bad. But I will leave that decision up to you.

I have Hayward H400IDL2 heater I recently had #1 and #2 1.5 amp fuses blow. I replaced them and then the #4 2.5 amp blew so I replaced it. When I press the mode button to spa the heater blower comes

Good Day, missed your post for a few days. #1 & #2 fuses are on the high voltage side. This could mean a problem with incoming voltage or a bad fuse or main circuit board. Call our tech line at 908 355-7996. I have attached a link to the manual. http://www.hayward-pool.com/pdf/manuals/H-seriesLowNOx-H250IDL2-H350IDL2-H400IDL2.pdf

Have hecked the wiring a hayward h4fdp and getting code io. C

According to the manual, this is pointing to the ignitor. Ignitors on these units tend to be finiky, working at times but failing others. Replace the ignitor and your error should stop. First try killing the breaker, wait 2 minutes, than reset it. This will clear the codes and start from scratch. If you continue with the same code than the ignitor is the problem

My service light is on and I have a bO code. The heater will run some times, more time than not it will not run. Thanks Dave

The bO code is a normal code. It stands for bypass operation and just means that the heater is wired into an automatic controller such as a jandy or aqualogic. If there is a call for heat and the heater doesn't fire, you should be getting an error code. It may take several (3 or so) attempts at firing before you will get the code. HTH

CE ERROR

CE is a communication error.

This is an automatic check performed anytime the unit is powered up. If there is no data communication between the main panel and the ignitor you will get this code within 30 seconds.

If communication is re-established this code will disappear.

DO NOT do any of the following with AC power on / to the unit.

First check the ignitor then, the wiring and terminals from the ignitor to the main board.

There just might be a corrosion problem with the circuitry or corrosion on the main board itself.

Thanks for using FixYa.
