This error code on Dell 3100CN occurs when toner cartridges are not seated properly and/or are not properly locked in. Turn off the printer and unplug it. Now, you need to open the front door and pull out the drum. Try moving the carousel and check if it moves freely. While moving the carousel back and forth try adjusting the cartridges. try to unlock the cartridges and lock them again.
Now turn off the printer and turn it on after 1-2 min.s.
the BTR cover is also called " Bias Transfer Roller " cover it should be that roller that seen when open the front cover most likely the Bias transfer roller door sensor in NOT detecting the dorr closed. make sure the tab isn't broken this will produce this error if it is.
First open the top door, pulling out the drum. Leave the door open. Then open the front door. Then close it slowly. While doing this, move the carousel. The carrousel is free while the door closed and locked while it open.
The BTR cover is covered the fuser. If you open the rear door, it is located at the upper part, behind the metallic rod. The problem is the cover is installed unproperly: Its metal piece is not touched against the metal piece of the machine, so the machine does not "smell" the BTR cover.
I am a publisher here in Seattle printing full color books with this machine and I have just gotten the same message- Does anyone have a solution- I have Googled and checked everything...
Now, this happened to me a few months ago and I pulled out the drum and sprayed it with air, replaced it and it worked fine for about two months- now I get the error again- does this help in the problem solving?
