You can check it out in your bios if its not detected. i think you have to check the ide cable connected to your hd it could be faulty. then reboot the pc then press F2 or delete to prompt to bios set up then check it out if its reading then proceed press f10 then enter. it will prompt you to opening of your system.

Sata hdd recognized intermittenly and installation sometimes sata hdd detected and sometimes lost halfway

Hello
Try disconnecting the hd from the motherboard, then reboot.

Shut down all power to pc unplug from wall, then reconnect hd,restart pc.

Be sure that in the bios settings your hd is set for autodetection,if there is a sata option just use auto.

I tried to install SATA Hard Disc to MSI PT8 Neo-V Mother Board. But Even AMIBios Setup, it could not seen and when I try to install the windows, it tells no hard drive found.

cek our bios setup
1. is that addon card set to SATA or RAID?, SAT the set should be!
2. Broken? (maybe the cable not connect, power cable is bad or something else like, try to hear the sound working harddisk, teh sound because the HD's motor is working)
3. this time, the HD is very big enough, but the software not followed yet, so maybe your BIOS need to be upgrade, i dont know. try to flash it

at last, the HD only display detect when u boot the CPU. at BIOS is not display detect.
that my experience
sory if not helping

Kob 740 ESC mainboard bios can not detect more than 99 gb of HD

What is your file format? FAT32 wont detect much Space. Try NTFS if not using. You should get the bios update on the site of manufacturer.

Can't install linux

Probably should check in the BIOS and see if the HD is detected.
If not, you should check cables and connections (a bad cable will do it every time) power to the HD (can you feel/hear it start up?) Last resort to flash the BIOS. Try a different HD first and see if it is detected.

Same problem, but not solved

Matias,
Please remove the jumper on the SATA drive. Boot to the bios & see if the SATA drive is listed. If it is you're good. If this is the first SATA you have tried in the Asus board & my suggestion also failed to show the SATA drive you are left with two options.
One the SATA drive is defective or the SATA motherboard controller is bad. You can call Asus tech M-F 8:00AM to 5:00PM EDT. At 1-812-282-2787, there is little wait time when calling Asus tech. Asus does not charge you for calling them.
