SOURCE: no sounds through sub and rear speakers

Your radio probably has a sub on and off function on it that was reset when it lost power. Go into your setup menu to turn it on.

SOURCE: My amp was bad so

It doesn't sound like the wiring from amp to sub is your problem.

Is your amp getting a power light ?
Are you sure your remote wire is hooked up properly ?
Check both ends of your RCA cables

My mrp m650 alpine amp power light is on but no sound. it works if i hook it to other vehicles but not in mine.

Check your speakers and speaker wires to make sure you have no shorts or grounds. Not knowing what vehicle you are putting the amp in, there is also a possibility that there may be a stock amp in the vehicle. If this is the case, you may have to rewire the speakers and bypass the stock amp.

My speakers just stopped working. what is the problem? the head unit still has power and seems to be working fine though.

Does your car have the Mach system, if so the amp has went out or the connection for the amp in the back of the radio is defective. I have a 2001 Expedition with the Mach system, and this is a major problem with these system's. I've replaced the amp, but it didn't work, so I was told to check the connector in the back of radio, sometimes those come disconnected, but that wasn't it either. And now I know the connection on the back is bad. Are all of the speaker not working or just the bass sub/subs

I have an alpine mrd-m1001 getting curr message ho do you reset the amp

Hello deeprajm,

Shorted or low impedance outputs can cause the "CUR" display. Power down everything and remove the speaker wires. If it will then power up without the display, the problem is probably a short in the speaker wire or voice coil, or the impedance load is too low. If there are multiple subs, reconnect them one at a time to isolate the bad one and then correct the problem. If the amp works properly with either of the subs but not both, rewire the subs for a higher final impedance.

If the amp still displays "CUR" with the speakers disconnected, there's most likely an internal fault that requires component level repair.

Hope this helps.

Amp turns off

Sounds like you're overloading the amp's ability to drive the speakers. Turn the gain down on the amp and see if you can take your volume higher. If you have an independent subwoofer output control on the headunit, check its setting and reduce it if necessary. Also, if you're wired in parallel, rewire the subs in series to increase the load on the amp.

One sub working other is not

Lets narrow it down.

You've go two speakers, one works, one doesn't.

First off, switch the connections on the speakers.

- Good to bad
- Bad to good

Now, if the one that wasn't working, starts working: The speaker is OK

If the one the was working, still works: The Amp is OK

If the one the was working, stops working: Either the amp input for that channel has been compromised (check connections), That side of the amp is blown, or possibly (long shot) the heads balance is all the way to one side.

If they both are working: It fixed itself!!

Hope this helps locate the problem

Sub quit working, where do I find new board/amp/crossover panel

I have the same problem with mine and since Acoustic Research went out of business, I too have been looking for a solution. I may have found an alternative to throwing away this really nice speaker. I found a company on the web that appears to sell an amp that may fit nicely into this speaker enclosure for $99.00. Check it out...http://www.partsexpress.com/pe/showdetl.cfm?DID=7&PartNumber=300-805

UPDATE Feb-16-2016: This Amp is still going strong since 2012 when I replaced it. The price has gone up to 139.00, but may still be worth it to replace a bad one given the cost of Sub's today.

Amp on but no bass

1st make sure the speakers are not bad, check th eimpedance with a multimeter, the voice ciols should read 3.9 to 4.3 ohm's. if any of your subs are below this most likly the subs are bad. if they are ok make sure the ground for the amp is good. now the last thing is the amp. try another pair of speakers, even if it's smaller ones, just make sure they are 4 ohm speakers, keep the vol. very low during your test. if the other speakers do not work then have your amp serviced or replaced. good luck
