Ok here's the response to all the things u said

first i used a CARD READER: it keeps trying to search for autoplay and fails. sort of like its trying to read and not getting access.
--double clicking on the drive: "operation could not be performed becaude of I/O error"
--fomat the drive: "there is no disk in drive"

tried in SAFE MODE: exactly same as above but without the autoplay ****.

i kinda dint get how to use FAT format to reformat.

The card could be failing. Try checking that the fans are turning on the HIS when computer is on. Also make sure the heatsink under the fan is fully touching. The card may think it is overheating so check all the connections under the cover on the HIS card

I have a sandisk 2gb micro sd card. I put it into my computer's card reader and it keeps saying it needs to be formatted. When I try to format it it says windows was unable to complete the format. I am...

> unable to complete the format.

The FORMAT process is trying to write data to the card, but that writing is NOT successful,
i.e., the memory on the card is damaged/defective, and so it "fails".

Responsibly recycle the card, and purchase a replacement memory-card.

I shot alot of pictures on my sony cyber-shot W55 and when i wanted to view them it says file error

It may be a problem with the memory card. Try the card in a card reader or another sony camera. If it works ok then, you've a camera problem.

If it fails also, it's a card problem, the files are corrupted somehow, the only thing in this case is to re-format the card in you camera, it will be one on the menu options.

The trouble is, when you format, it clears every thing off the card.

Another way is to buy a spare memory card, always handy, if that work ok straight away, again your first card has a problem and probably needs formatting.

Windows explorer non responsive when sd card inserted. Computer runs slow when using Serif PhotoPlus 9 or 10 and eventually becomes non responsive.

Hi p_allchin1,

This probelm usually occurs when there is problem with the card reader device or even due to faulty cable between the card reader and the System, try replacing the wire and if *** fails replace the reader....

There is a chance of this problem occuring due to Faulty card also..

ok connect the card reader & put memory & try going in safe mode ...
i hope you know how to go to safe mode ... (it is pressing f8 key before the OS boots)..

if still problem persists then Use FAT format to reformat.... when you put it into a MMC Card reader.
if it reads in your phone then try deleting everything in that ...
& also try to check the errors in that drive when connected to pc after this try formatting ........

Memory Card Error

Do not ever format a card.,any card via a computer That does it in. For camera use it will not be recognised. Put the card in the card reader and if there is anything at all on it delete it. Try to reformat in the camera again- failing that -new card.
