You got water/liquid in the control switch, most the time you have to replace the switch, and most cook tops require the whole string of them be changed at once. That is all the switches are tied into /pre wired together.

Thermidor GG30 cooktop front large burner will not light, does not spark. Three other burners work fine. Need instructions how to disassemble and repair. I am handy but no experience with this item. ...

Here is the part to order.

Close the valve in the gas line connected to the Thermador oven. Unplug the cooktop's electrical cord from the wall outlet.
Remove the screws under the front edge of the Thermador cooktop below the cabinet to release the cooktop from the countertop.

Put on work gloves then raise the cooktop at an angle. Recruit a friend to hold up the appliance while you work on the igniter underneath. The igniter is a pronged strip of black metal in a housing wired with two plugs connected to powericon1.png sockets underneath the Thermador cooktop.

Disconnect the two wired plugs on the end of the igniter from the sockets.
Take out the two screws in the metal plate that hold the igniter in position under the Thermador cooktop. Pull the igniter out of the mounting bracket in the cooktop.
Hold the new igniter by the housing and insert the part into the mounting bracket. Secure it with the two screws.
Connecticon1.png the two wired plugs to the sockets. One plug is larger than the other, which makes it simple to connect them correctly.

Lower the Thermador cooktop into position on the countertop and reattach it with the screws through the underside of the front edge.
Plug inicon1.png the cooktop's power cord and open the valve in the gas line.

Hello & Welcome to FixYa

The clicking can only be stopped after replacing the igniter, if it tests fine then it means that the spark module is bad and needs replacement. Please get back to me if you have any other questions.

Gas starter spark won't stop

You probably got water under the cooktop while cleaning around the knobs. It causes a short at the 120 volt igniter switches on the shaft of each valve. Unplug the stove for 1 or 2 day and let it dry.

Ge profile gas range. one burner with no clicking and no ignition

You may have a bad burner switch. If you turn one of the other burner switches to make the spark modules spark look and see if the electrode is sparking at the bad burner. Most of the spark modules send a spark to all 4 burners when activated. If it sparks when another burner is activated open the valve and see if the burner will ignite. If so you probably have a bad burner switch.

It is a gas cooktop and the igniter for one of the burners will not stop sparking.

One of the surface switches is bad. Remove the panel to access the switches. There is one on each surface control stem. Remove a wire from each switch until the clicking stops. That will be the bad switch when the clicking stops. Replace the switch.

The gas ignitor keep ticking in off or on positions

There is a spark switch on each gas valve. One or more of your spark switches is defective.
Remove the front panel over your valves. Unplug each switch until the sparking stops. That will be the bad switch. Replace it.

Cooktop igniters

You need to replace your "spark module" because it shorted our most likely because it got wet.

Here is a good website to get the part from http://www.partselect.com/
