I was given a Belkin Wireless G plus MIMO router but i have no idea how to install it.

Are you trying to set up router ?
You can set up your router manually, without the CD.
Make sure that your computer is able to go online directly through the modem.
If your computer is able to go online through the modem, that means the modem is working fine.
You will need to connect the computer to the router and the modem to the router.
open the set up page of the router and change the settings of the router according to the ISP.

After firmware upgrade can't get router to connect to internet

Hello,
Connect your computer directly to your cable or DSL modem. If you see a log-in screen for your Internet Service Provider, make a note of the user name and password. Unplug your router and your cable or DSL modem. Plug your modem to your Belkin router's "WAN" port. Connect your computer to one of your Belkin router's numbered ports. Turn on in your modem and wait 10 seconds. Plug in your router and restart your computer. Select "Start," then "Control Panel" and then "Network Connections." Right-click "Local Area Connection" to bring up your network connection properties. Click "Internet Protocol (TCP/IP)," then "Obtain an IP Address Automatically" and then "Obtain DNS Server Addresses Automatically. Open your web browser. If you are prompted for a user name and password, enter the information you recorded in Step 1.

My belkin g mimo won't let me access some sites that my computer will access on friends servers. These include microsoft.com and my sons fave topgearturbo.com to name but two. Thanks Steve

Try changing your DNS servers from the ones supplied by your ISP to 4.2.2.1 and 4.2.2.2

You can find a manual for your router here to help get you to that point - http://en-uk-support.belkin.com/app/answers/list/search/

check the lights on the router and the cables connected. ur dad's ISP settings might be stored in the router so its better u reset ur router by pressing the reset hole in the router using a paper clip for 1 minute, unplug all the cables, ur modem too. then plug back one by one with modem 1st.

Cannot finish installation (Belkin F5D8633-4 wireless modem router N mimo)

ok, obvious questions first:

Do you have a different modem from TALKTALK? can you connect to the internet through that?

if so, you may not have to set a username and password for the belkin router: just connect the belkin router's internet port to the talktalk modem and let the talktalk modem handle the automatic connection.

do you know what protocol the talktalk ISP uses?  it's probably PPPOE; make certain that your belkin router is set to the correct protocol.  if you just hook it up to the talktalk modem though, you probably won't have to specificy a protocol at all.

Belkin Wireless G Plus MIMO Problem

connect a network cable to it. the open a web browser like internet explorer and type: http:\\192.168.1.1

A user interface should appear, the default password will be either 0000 or 1234.

Connect to your broadband provider (make sure you have a DSL lilght on solid, not flashing) and see can you browse the internet, you may need to put your username and password in the browser.

If you can browse you are now ready to setup your wirelees side of your network.

Disconnect the cable and activate your wireless on your pc/laptop. Search for your network name (this can be checked when connected to your router, usually under, wireless SSID name. Call it something you reconise)

Try connect to it now...

Hope this helps...
