How to maximize color of monitor?

Look at the color bands, they will determine the value. Last band color is the precision value of the resistor. You can find the color band values on many websites. The size of it tells you the wattage raring.

CV7500 is the name of the screen that you are using. You will have more luck finding drivers if you look for the name of the model on the tower of the computer.

Compaq CV 7500 , it does not have either speakers or microphone.

if it is in warranty take it to the service center. if not replace the monitor is it an old heavy crt monitor or a new flat panel?

check the pin # 1 of video input cable { broken or Bent }
if it is ok then there must be a problem with the cable or RGB Processing Circuit { Normally Dry Soldering of a faulty IC in the circuit of CRT BASE} .

The Monitor Goes on and stays steady Indicates that the Power cable to the Monitr is Just fine.
However,If the Monitor Display flickers or Goes Off and on often then it is a Problem with the VGA cable.(The Big blue Cable with 2 Screws holding it)

possibly screen color depth is set to 16 colors. - open control panel display - settings tab, slide the color depth to 16 bit. - change resolution to 800 x 600 for now. reboot and see if that does the trick, then readjust settings to your tastes.
