I have Acer Aspire E500 (ASE500-UP801M) running Win XP Media Center edition, 1G RAM. It is too slow. Q1. Could I add another RAM stick to it and how much maximum could I add? Q2. How do I know the Bus

Test your computer using a brand new hard drive. 1GB memory is enough. I am sure this is a software problem (messy registry or problematic apps or malware) or space problem (the hard drive is almost full).

How do you access the memory slots on an acer aspire z3731

Memory Sockets or Slots are the place where memory RAM modules are inserted in the motherboard. The Acer Aspire Z3731 has 4 (4 banks of 1) memory expansion slots. A memory bank is a group of memory expansion sockets, a bank must be completely filled with memory modules of the same size and type in order for the system to recognize and address the memory. i.e. :
2 sockets (2 banks of 1) This indicates that there are 2 memory slots. These are divided into 2 banks, and each bank consists of one memory slot. So you can add memory one piece at a time for the system to use.
3 sockets (3 banks of 1) This indicates that there are 3 memory slots. These are divided into 3 banks, and each bank consists of one memory slot. So you can add memory one piece at a time for the system to use.
4 sockets (2 banks of 2) This indicates that there are 4 memory slots. These are divided into 2 banks, and each bank consists of two memory slots. So you must add memory two pieces at a time (they must be the same size and type of memory) in order for the system to benefit from the upgrade.
8 sockets (4 banks of 2) This indicates that there are 8 memory slots. These are divided into 4 banks, and each bank consists of two memory slots. So you must add memory two pieces at a time (they must be the same size and type of memory) in order for the system to benefit from the upgrade.
12 sockets (3 banks of 4) This indicates that there are 12 memory slots. These are divided into 3 banks, and each bank consists of four memory slots. So you must add memory four pieces at a time (and they must be the same size and type of memory) in order for the system to benefit from the upgrade.

Hello. I want to add memory to my Acer AM5100-U5300A desktop. It currently has 2 1GB GPC2-5300 667Mhz modules. I'm not familiar with this ''graphic'' memory. Is regular PC2-5300 compatible or will I need...

Go to All4Memory.COM and download their memory scanner to determine what memory you need and how much space you would use.

If that doesn't work, go to Crucial.com and download their memory scanner and it will tell you how much memory you would need and what type of memory.

Want to add more memory to aspire t180 ast 180-ud400b

According to Acer's website, your system uses this memory configuration...

256MB DDR2 533/667/800 SDRAM expandable to 4GB

My suggestion to you is, if you have the original 256 loaded, find a good bargain on DDR2 667, one gb memory modules and REPLACE what is installed, instead of adding to it.

If you add to it, and it is the incorrect speed (that's the 667 number), you may experience some very undesirable results.

good luck
tony

PS. This advice is posted assuming you are aware of the dangers of ESD, and you have some technical experience on the inside of a computer. If this assumption is false, please share this advice with your technician to get the correct memory upgrade.

How to add memory module to Acer 3003WLCi notebook

On the bottom of the laptop you should see one or two screwed down covers, one usually covers the harddrive and the other will cover the memory and sometimes the wireless card slots.
Use the memory configuration tool at http://www.crucial.com to make sure you buy the right memory card for you machine.

Acer 5315 Laptop. How do I add more RAM. Quite familiar to doing such on a desktop.....but first time for a notebook.

Laptop PC memory can be accessed below the unit. You may need a small screwdriver to open the compartment (usually labeled M) Also as a precaution, remove the power supply and battery before doing anything. Also, check if there are 1 or 2 slots for the ram. message me if you need more info

I have an acer extensa 5620-6830 with 1g memory on a dual core which means I only have 512m for each core. Right? What is the most memory I can add and not having done this before what kind of memory chip...

DUAL CORE refers to the amount or cores your PROCESSOR has, Memory indicates the TOTAL amount for the WHOLE SYSTEM, NOT the cores or the precessor. You should be able to max out your memory @ 4gb, but check your machine specs at Acer website for Max amount and type.
