You need to lookup the driver on this webpage
http://support.dell.com/support/downloads/index.aspx

It should be there as long as you haven't upgraded your video card inside your pc.

Inspiron 1000 dell laptop with windows xp ie7? is there any way to delete some programs, make more room, and load ??????applications?? for playing facebook / zynga games and to play wizard101.com please...

yes, you can always open the programs and features section in Control Panel to uninstall utilities or programs you do not actually use or need. you can also delete old files like video, audio, pictures and documents no longer need to free up some space. after doing so, it would help to run disk defragmenter to organize the available space on the drive. Depending on the size of yuor hard drive, you can also replace it with a larger one or use an external drive to save files and use hard drive for program files and the operating system.

My hard drive has broken. I want to buy a used, loaded hard drive for my Dell Inspiron 1525. Which other Dell hard drives would be compatable?

what do you mean loaded? preinstalled wih everything? for that you would probably have to go to dell and they probably charge a lot. you can just get another "2.5 sata hard drive and do it yourself if you have a copy of windows. you can even borrow a copy as long as it is the same version that is on the sticker on the bottom of your computer. you just use your product key. then you can go to dell.com and get the drivers you need.

I have a Dell-Inspiron Laptop 1526 I had my hard drive replace by Dell once this year already, when I turn on the computer it starts to work and then stop Running Vista my warranty was up Sept 3 2009 like...

Your trying to downgrade this means you have to use vista cd to format the hard driver, and after the laptop restart, load the Xp. Also sometimes this code comes if you donot use the original xp windows.

Thanks for using Fixy

Hello, I get the folliwing message by starting my laptop dell inspiron 5100: The operating system not found. Please could you provide any solution to solve the problem. Thanks. Chahin

this happens when there is damage to the windows installation, or the hard drive itself. test your hard drive using an external hard drive casing, if the hard drive works then you can just copy your files to another computer, then reformat the hard drive put it back in your laptop and reload windows

I have an Inspiron 5100 that is running very slow. I want to format the hard drive (40 GB)and reinstall XP Home. I hit the F12 key while booting and the computer tries to boot from the CD drive but it does...

This would be a good time to upgrade to Windows XP Professional. I think your disk from Dell is bad because you are going about it the right way.

One suggestion is to put your windows cd in the cdrom drive. Browse the cd for a file called setup, click on that and setup should run from there.

Dell Inspiron 6000 Laptop Won't Boot Up

The laptop won’t POST after removing the memory? Sounds like the memory module (s) need to be reseated again. Removing memory will not reset the laptop. If you want to install a clean Windows XP load, you need to boot from the Windows CD and format the hard drive.

Gaming issues

I would make sure you have the latest bios, and video drivers to start. Make sure you have all latest updates for windows. Make sure your hard drive is defragmented. Also make sure your computer is clean and that it is ventilating/cooling properly. If that fails I would just format and reinstall windows.
Hope that helps,
Lee
