There may be multiple reasons for the SIM not working/getting detected by phone.here are some remedies.
1.If the phone is locked(sim-locked/region locked)and not factory unlocked then the vendor specific SIM will work.you can not use different SIM provider with the locked phone.
2.check with different SIM cards whether they are getting detected by the phone and you getting signals properly.
3.if your SIM is working in another phone means the problem is in HTC simcard reader or any recent software update you applied on the phone.uninstall/rollback or factory reset the phone(remember this will delete the USER data so first take backup of sms/photos etc).
4.if still it doesnt help it means the phone simreader is faulty which is a hardware problem and you need to seek for service help.hope this helps.
1. Power down the Nokia cell phone before inserting the SIM card. If the phone is on when you insert the SIM card, it may not detect the newly placed device. 2. Insert a SIM card from your specific wireless provider. If you are attempting to insert the SIM card of a different company, your Nokia phone may not properly detect or use the equipment. 3. Slide the SIM card completely into the SIM card port on your Nokia cell phone. If the card is not pushed in all the way, your phone will not detect the information.
The puk code is sim card spesific it comes with the sim card when you get it or you can get it by calling your phone service provider of the sim card to get the puk code.
if you have entered the puk code wrong too many times you will make the sim card useless and you will have to contact your phone service provider for a new sim card, it will probably cost.
hte thing is...ur phone is handset bundled offer phone..so til the validity ends on ur new sim card..the phone is designed to detect only new sim..so ucant change til validity ends...or u may approach any private local mobile repair shop..i wont cost u much..

Try the SIM in another phone. SIM cards go bad.
If it doesnt work in the other phone it will have to be replaced. I
THis can also be caused if you set up a PIN code and it was entered in wrong too many times and you did not use the right PUK code to unlock it. THis will permanently damage a SIM card.
f it does work in another phone then your phone is no longer able to read SIM cards. Check with the manufacturer for warranty info.
