It sounds like the battery is bad, beacuse it wont even start with a jump. If possible take the battery off and take it to your local autoparts or even walmart car service, they will test the voltage on battery for free, from the description you are giving about the clicking sound pretty sure the battery is gone. good Luck.
I just replaced the battery 2 1/2 years ago....hmmm. I thought batteries last longer than that! Thanks for your advise. I'll take my battery out and have it checked. I thought it might be the starter.
It's easier to remove the battery first to have it tested, but if its good, then yes it could be the starter, your local autoparts should be able to test that as well. Good Luck.
I'm having the same problem! I was going to take my battery in but everyone is telling me it's probably my alternator. My problem is...if the battery is good...how can I take it any where to see if it's the alternator if I can't get it to start? I'm also wondering if it has to do with my alarm system since I just noticed my reverse lights flashing without me doing anything. Can you let me know if you found out what's wrong with your car....maybe it's the same thing. I would appreciate it...thanx My e mail is [email protected]

your battery isnt holding enough charge to crank the starter.thats what the clicking is. try charging you battery for a good 8-10 hours, if it still does the same thing you'll need a new battery.

could be alternator not charging, put another good battery on and see what happens ,if it starts then check charge with a induction amp meter ,as these vehicles use intelegent charging system so disconnecting the battery with engine running to see if keeps running so you know alternator is ok doesnt work .if warning light goes out then renew the battery but if engine management light on then it could be a alternator fault or the ECU playing up ,and to check this out you wwill need a scope to read the fluctuations on teh sensor wire to the ECU and read the resistance to check for a fault as these vehicles use encrypted software to make it a dealer only job but it can be checked without it .

check your key remote if it is not programmed the alarm will go into the kill switch mode and will not allow you to start your engine Having the same trouble with one of my keys I haven't found a way to reprogram it without calling dealer and paying a chunk.

That Clicking is the Battery causing it not to Start. You need to Replace that Battery or at Least put a Charger on it for a Couple of hours to see if you can Salvage it for a While.

I took your advise and had the battery tested. Your were right, it was my battery. It was completely dead. They gave me credit on the dead battery to buy a new one, since I only had it replaced in 2008.
