Question about Audio Players & Recorders

1 Answer

Stereo static I have 2 stereos hooked to a computer. It is a 6 channel soundcard and I am using 4 channel setting. I have not had any problem before till I moved Even with the computer volume set to 0, lots of static coming out of the 4 speakers. I can only stop the static by turning volume down on stereos, they both do that. Sometimes, not always, I just touch the metal case on a stereo and the static stops. Thanks for any help one stereo is an Akai and other is a Yamaha

I have a Dell dimension 4700. The speakers constantly emit a crackling or static sound. It sounds like a giger counter detecting radiation.

Shut down all electrical sets around and check if the static goen the problem will be in electrical sets and you have to check it one by one.if it is not solved check your cables for any bad connector -open circuit- short circuit(try with a couple of new cables).-apply a contact cleaner in all sockets and move jack in and out in all sockets(with no power on)

I want to connect Max 2500 with 6 JBL Control 28 speakers 175 watts @ 8 ohms each... please suggest what will be the best connection...series or parallel

first is how u want to run the amp itself ....... the MAX2500 can run in mono (bridged) output or stereo ......... though wat u want to watch is the impedance of the load really with the bridged load being no lower than 8 ohms/1500W (there's reasons for this) and the stereo load where u can have either 4 ohms/750W or 8 ohms/500W so how do u want to run this is first the question ..... all 6 on the bridged output or 2 off each channel (though running 3 would make for complicated impedance load) ..... so u'd run 2 in parallel for a 4 ohm load with 300 watt requirement from the amp and u can drive them to 1.5 times their rated RMS figure so a nice 500 watts :)

I have the xp 300 and in stereo mode it only works on one channel or the other, not as 2 seperate channels

If you are saying that it only works on say the left channel in stereo mode, but both channels come on in mono, then there's a fault in the amplifier's pre-amp. These days they are an IC, it can be traced by following the input wires to the point on the PC Board and then looking around for an IC with all inputs going in. If you are lucky there might be two! One for each channel. Replace the one on the dead channel. You can test it, either the single IC or both, touching it's pins with an insulated tool while the amp is on. It will buzz on the channel. Stereo amps have two sets of identical parts, except when an IC is involved. But even then that will have two halves (inside it). You just need to touch the pins of the IC, with the tool, but don't short the pins together! You should hear at least 4 buzzers. One at the right input, one at the left input, one each at the left and right output. If you only get the left an right output buzz, plus the good channel input buzz, you know it's the IC that's gone.

I just got one what is it an how does it work an how do i hook it up?

2 channel power amp
you will need additional equipment for this beast to work right.
1. you need a pre-amp, all audio connections go into the preamp which control sorces, volm, bass and treble.
2. out from the preamp into the power amp and out to your speakers

3. you can freak it if you have an 1/8" stereo to RCA stereo plug in this caee you can play your ipod, phone or mp3 player thru this amp using your input device (ipod, phone or mp3 player ) like a preamp to control volm, bass and treble.

I need speakers for my Onkyo A-911M integrated amp

A+B speakers = 4 channels 2 right 2 left

100 watts/4 = 25 watts per channel

RMS watts / channel = 25 x .707 = 18 watts/channel which is your average consumer stereo system

I would use 8 or 16 ohm speakers (not 4 ohm) -- almost any set of stereo speakers will "work" -- these will be 8 ohm and about 5 watt minimum / 40 watt max thereabouts

No stereo signal out from yamaha p 2500 s

It's unclear what type of connectors are on the end of the cables(s) coming from your computer.

This amp only works with mono 1/4" TRS and XLR connectors, not standard RCA connectors.

Did you try the Right one in the Left Channel to see if the Left Channel worked?

Refer to the following manual and read up on the connectors (page 7) and the use of the Stereo/Parallel/Bridge Switch (page 8). When it is NOT in Stereo Mode the unit only uses the Right Channel controls and input.

STEREO/PARALLEL/BRIDGE switch
Use this switch to select the operating mode.
• STEREO mode
Channels A and B operate independently (as with a conventional
stereo amplifier). The Channel A input goes to the Channel
A output jacks, and the Channel B input goes to the
Channel B output jacks.
• PARALLEL mode
The Channel A input signal is output through both the Channel
A and Channel B output jacks. The Channel B input jacks do
not function. Channel A and B volumes can be independently
adjusted.
• BRIDGE mode
The Channel A input signal is output from the BRIDGE output
jacks. To adjust the volume, you must use the Channel A volume
control knob.

Center channel speaker

Is the amp already used for L R? If so, you either need another amp for center, or set your Sony for stereo mix down. I have mixed the center channel into my main LR in the past and found there were terrible phase cancellations, so I suggest you switch to Stereo, or use a separate amp.

Peet
