Flickering screen with semi-circular middle whitish flicker and static sound
Have a 3-year old WD-52525.
3 days ago, picture was "scrolling" quickly, but sound was OK.
Tonight, picture is flickering (no video) with a ovoid / semi-circular whitish pattern almost like a galaxy seen from the side. Sound is still staticky.
Initially, online menu was OK but now it too is affected by the static and bad picture.
Tried all inputs (Xbox, DVD, cable) and same problem, so it's not the cable only.
any ideas? Got the 4-year extended service warranty from Best Buy so that's my next resort. Have not tried calling Mitsu customer service yet.

It sounds like you TV is overheating and the video is suffering and the lamp is overheating as well. Also, if your TV is over 2-3 years old, the mirrors (behind and below the big front screen) desperately need to be cleaned. Clean all filters and fans as well. (Look on side and behind the unit). Is the TV in a "hot" environment and/or dirty environment? DLP TV's are NOT sealed units. They need to be cleaned every few years to work well to have a good, clear, bright picture.
You would need the service manual for that adjustment. It is outlined in the service manual on how to adjust the tilt. It is a mechanical adjustment. You can get the service manual emailed to you instantly after purchase at this link. http://servicemanuals.vstore.ca/
We contacted Mitsu today in Irvine. Sounds to us like they're aware of a widespread problem with this model. Told us to get a Mitsu Tech to diagnose and fax to them the outcome and someone would contact us back within two days. Seems like so many are having the same problem and all about 2.5 to 3 yrs. old. I paid $3,500.00 for mine. I'm not going down without a fight with Mitsubishi. Thought they were #1 in the Big Screen world. CLASS ACTION LAWSUIT OR RECALL BY Mitsu should be in order....They know there is a problem with the power supply module.
