Dell Inspiron 600m notebook

Ok, here is the deal, I am trying to get the make and model of my motherboard for my dell inspiron 600m notebook. It has an Inspiron M processer if that helps. I have tried several programs that I have on hand that will ID everything, but the ID for the motherboard comes up as

Manufactuer (spelling) Dell Technologys Corp.

and it dose not give a model. I need to get the model and what not so I can get the correct bios update because I am upgrading from the Pentium M to ... well, it all depends on the mother board to what processers it will support and also what bios revisions are avalible for it. If anybody can please give me an idea on how to figure it out ... that would be great. Oh and also I did go into the F2 bios on start up to check for the usual number string, but did not find it. I do have a # string on start up because of my HD password lock out. But I am 99.9% sure that is the ID string for the HD and not for the motherboard. Anyhow, if you need more info what so ever just let me know and I'll give it to you.

Thanks in advance....

Try using CPU-Z. You can download it and install it in your laptop. You'll see the system information with CPU-Z.
Hope this helps..

I remember a recall on certain Dell laptop batteries due to their hot running.

Please confirm with your nearest laptop dealer ASAP as they have been known to catch fire!!!

Dell Inspiron 600m not starting up!

The Caps Lock Flashing then going off is a power on self-test code. Here is the Dell troubleshooting guide to the issue.

From my experience, if removing al customer removable devices failes to make the system post properly, the motherboard will need to be replaced
