Question about Nikon Speedlight SB-800 TTL Flash
I am new to using speedlights so I was wondering when I turn on my speedlight the ready light doesn't turn on but it flashes and is working. Also, then I take a picture with it and the ready light doesn't let me know when it is done recyclying what is the problem???
What about brand new, fully charged, 2700 mahas? why wouldn't a sb-800 turn on the ready light in this situation? i'm having this problem...

Put in a fresh set of batteries. The ready light won't turn on until the flash capacitor is fully charged. And if your battery is weak, it can take very long (minutes!) to fill the capacitor. You still can fire the flash even it is not ready, it will just dump whatever power it stored in the capacitor.
