Question about Dell (04U621) for Latitude D600, Inspiron 600M Motherboard
I need to find out the make and model of my mother board so I can get the correct bios update for my new processer, and also to make sure the motherboard will support what ever processer I chose to purchase. Do any of you know a quick way to get this information? I have looked in my F2 bios at start up and no luck there. Even tried a few programs I have on hand that work on every other computer I have used them on but all it keeps coming up with is Maker Dell Computer Corp. and no model. I have the Pentium M processer installed from factory, so if that is of any help then great. Any other information you may need to help solf my delima feel free to ask and I shall give it to you. Oh and ya, no need to go step by step, I'm rather savy round puters, but dang if I can't get a model of this motherboard... UGH... kinda drivin me crazy but at the same time, I love a challenge. Thanks in advance
To find your BIOS upgrade you can do one of the following options:
1.Identify your Intel motherboard model via our Award BIOS or AMI BIOS id's tabs
2.Find a(n) Intel BIOS upgrade via the Links tab on the official site.
3.Run the BIOS Agent scan browser plugin

The model number is under the RAM, unscrew the RAM cover on the bottom of the laptop, pop out the RAM, and you'll see a sticker that says "C/N-XXXXXX-..." the first 6 numbers are the model of your MB. Let me know what you come up with, I bought a MB off ebay and the guy sent the wrong one, I'm googling to find out if the 04U621 is inferior/better/same as my original MB which is 05U857 (before I make a stink).
Note: you dont need to unscrew the whole thing, just the RAM access cover.

click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.
