Anyone know how I can contact the company that makes this machine? I've had it in storage and it's way past the point of returning it to the store I purchased it at - Thanks

Thanks for replying - I emailed the distributor to see if they have contact information -

It's beyond warranty or returning - I bought it and put it in the closet! Wish I had tested it before storing it....

It looks like an electric cake mixer !!

Gosh, try the place you bought it and see if they can give you any leads regarding their supplier as a 1st contact, it may be quite a search for the original makers, and if you want parts, almost no chance I would guess.......if you still have the receipt or a Credit Card statement you may find it still under warantee (if they give one on something like this !?!?!?!)

Some things are made to sell, not to sew I fear.

Brother sewing machine jammed?

take bobbin out...look in case in machine and pull any loose threads...you have to sew very slowly so this does not happen...the books don't tell you that!!! Make sure bobbin itself is neatly wrapped and thread is out where it is supposed to be once inside case.

I have my mother's Black Diamond sewing machine and no manual! Where can I start to find one?

Good luck, I've never heard of Black Diamond. I know that 40 years ago a company called "Happy Sewing Machine Company" was making branded sewing machines for companies like Montgomery Ward, Western Auto, etc. You might try giving the machine a once over to look for the word "happy" or a smilie on the underside.

Can you send a picture? Or post a link to one?

I'm not a seamstress by far lol, bought a used sewing machine and need the instruction manuel. does anyone know how i can get one?

Check on-line for that make and model...you might be able to either order one or download a copy directly from the company themselves...that's how I got mine for my Janome and how I was able to fix my machine myself by getting the instructions to do a reset and save myself a couple of hundres dollars

Loopers jamming

Overlockers require precision timing. Take it in and have it cleaned, adjusted and timed.

Cannot get the bobbin thread to loop with the top thread on singer 338

correct timing is when the needle is fully down and is just starting to go back up
at that point the hook should be just about at the eye of the needle
past or before indicates that the timing is out
way out can be the belt that drives the bottom section and just a bit can be the adjustment for the needle crank on the sliding shaft at the front of the machine

I have a brand new 4423 that is frustrating me so much I'm tempted to return it and buy something else. It will not sew a seam without having "birdnesting" underneath. It's horrible!! ...

Take it back while its under warranty and ask the dealer to thread up and sew on it; this way you can establish if it is a faulty machine or if its some other variable causing it. Certainly if you are an experienced sewer and have used other Singers, then you would know if you've done it correctly and your instincts tell you the machine is faulty so I'd suggest you take it back to the store.

Can I use a Bernina card 11253 in my Simplicity Embroidery Machine SE2

Unfortunately these cards are not interchangeable due to proprietary reading/writing software. This is used by the industry to prevent customers from changing brands once they've invested in a library of embroidery designs. However there is a company that makes it possible to transfer information from one type of card to another. I haven't used their product but it may be the solution to your problem.

Elna sewing machine

Amy,
did you solve the problem with your Jubilee?
I would suggest that the problem may be not holding the two threads at the back of the needle plate with starting each new seam. Elnas really need you to hold the threads, don't let the tail get caught and pulled back into the bobbin holder area. Once you have one jam, you'll have minute threads you maybe can't see caught under the ring guard (black bit) and the jamming will keep happening. Also, make sure you only use Elna bobbins always with holes on the top.

If you've still got the Jubilee and are having issues with it, feel free to add more info, the other contributors comments about the bobbin being faulty are valid but I dont think your machine is worn out, just jamming. You can remove the bobbin holder yourself and clean underneath it and once you've done it once, and know how to line it and the ring guard back up, its pretty easy and will ensure that the bobbin area stays clean.
