Question about Wacom Graphire3 Tablet 6x8 (C267252627)

1 Answer

Graphire4 Vista I have a Graphire4 tablet i connected it and inserted the disc to install but there seems that vista is missiong sometihng my old computer had. Everytime i try to install it a pop-up window say " platform not supported" I have tryed to install a new driver but none have worked it only tells me to uninstall my old driver, but I don't know how and when i follow the directions wacom gives me i don't know the file name to the other driver and supposedly exists. Any suggestions? I, too, just got a new laptop that runs Vista. I tried to install my tablet (which had worked on my previous laptop, which ran XP, fine) and when I clicked 'install', it came up with an error message that said 'Platform not supported'. The tablet works now, obviously, but it doesn't correspond with the screen correctly, it's 'acting like a mouse' until it gets installed. Which is obviously a...witch to draw with. XP

Vista doesn't support many things.. you need to see if you can find a driver for it or revert back to XP, or get a new graphics tablet

Ok so I called costumer service because mine was doing the same thing. Apparently the pressure sensor in the pen is stuck down. What you do is remove the pen tip with tweezers, blow in the open end of pen, then tap the pen (open end down) in a table to get any debris out of there. Then just put the tip back in and give it a try. That did the trick for me. Hope this helps.

I'm getting the same problem - for some reason it's removed all pen pressure sensitivity recognition from the tablet. I'm going to try re-installing the drivers tonight, I'll get back to you if I figure it out.

Computer does not recognize the device

Plug your Tablet in first with Computer off, Turn on Computer and see if Vista recognizes the Tablet. Go by what is suggested on the screen. It may help to do a Hard Disc DeFrag. before attempting the above.

Have you actually tried installing the XP driver in Vista? Sometimes that does work, so no harm in trying. Use the compatibility mode in Vista to install XP drivers to increase the chances of succeeding.

Make sure you have no old Wacom drivers installed in your applications folder. If you do, then you will need to uninstall each driver via the "remove tablet" utility.

If you are on a Windows Vista machine, you need to delete your preference files for your tablet driver. The issue you are experiencing is likely due to a corrupt prefs file, which in my case was what caused the problems specifically in photoshop.
