Polaroid FLM-323B Wont Turn On

Ive had my set for a year and a half and now it wont turn on. No lights...nothing. Its obvious Polaroid will not fix it for me? Is there a part I can get somewhere? If I have to fix it myself, I will.

I have the blue light nothing else happening dilema too. I read stiv0's tutorial but my boards don't look the same. I also can't find a cap that is bulged at all. Went to Radio Shack got the stuff and am now stumped. I took pictures. Any help would be great. I loved this TV now I hate it.

tv will not longer turn on

  • BIZZNESSMAN Aug 18, 2008

I have had this tv for almost two years now and was very pleased with it until a couple of days ago, I went to turn it on it showed the blue light but nothing on the screen. I unplugged, and plugged it back in several times finally the screen went on. Later that night when I turned it off I did a little check to see if it would work correctly... of course it did not. So since then it's been the same ol' thing back and fourth with the power supply. I'm pretty upset by the whole issue. I was wondering if anyone had any solutions for my problem. Maybe I'll go with the Samsung next time lol

I have the same problem. No indicator lights (red or blue), no picture, no sound. After reading Stiv0 about 37", I tried replacing all three caps grouped close together on the power board. Still no luck. Fuse is good and I am getting power to the board. However, nothing comes on.

same problem - blue light comes on when I press the power button, but no screen and won't turn off when I try. Started disconnected the power cord from the back of tv, wait 10 seconds, plug back in and starts up just fine. Now we have to do this every time we turn the tv on! It's not but 2 years old and very frustrating for how much it cost.

For the Polaroid FLM 373B, Changing the 2 caps and making sure the where the + and - is on the board when changing them out. This really does work and is fairly easy to do. The guy at Radio Shack offered to do for free right in the store. Just did it today and it works. Only thing, Radio Shack only carries 1000uf 35V in this particular style cap. That is about the largest you can go so it will fit in the right place.

Krag1010, I just applied stiv() fix to my Polaroid FLM-373B. It worked perfectly. Looking at your pictures it appears that the 2 caps that are adjacent to the transformer that is tagged 24V might be the ones to replace.
Are they marked 1000Mf? More importantly, are they rated at 10V? If I were you, and both of the answers are yes, I'd try replacing those caps, bulging or not. What have you got to lose?

My polaroid lcd tv, wont turn on, its 16 months old, any ideas?

Try plugging it into another outlet - one which you are certain is working. If that doesn't work, you might have a bad fuse inside your TV. If that isn't it, the power supply board may have failed.

It wont turn on

It's obviously beyond your expertise to repair it yourself. And it's not the sort of problem that can be diagnosed over the internet.
Find a trustworthy repair shop and take it there. You can find repair shops in the Yellow Pages. Don't be afraid to ask if the repair cost is such that it would be more cost-effective to replace the TV.

Olaroid FLM-3732 wont turn on

Have someone inspect the power supply board for bad or puffed up caps--getting any parts or boards for this brand is not real easy.

Samsung LN46C530 wont turn on.

Hey Mark,

Samsung's are notorious for bad caps, have you ever opened up the set? There could be other problems but I would start with power supply capacitors. The tops should be flat, look for any that have bulging tops !!!

TV wont show picture but redlight and blue light come on.

Go to search, Polaroid 37 lcd hd repair. Two or three vids on how to fix. Radio shack has 45 watt capacitators for about 4.70 for two. Easy fix or get someone to help.
