Maytag MDB3100 Soap Dispenser Problem?

I replaced the water inlet valve in my dishwasher and it seems to fill OK now, but it still does not use up all the dishsoap in the dispenser cup. I put 1 tablespoon full in each side and after a heavy cycle was done, there was still a pasty remnant of soap in the dispenser cup. The glasses come out streaked in some cases, and the general cleaning quality is not as good as it should be. Water seems to be hot enough with good pressure.

Anything to do with the upper and lower spray arms not spraying the water evenly enough? Any input appreciated.

Remove each arm and inspect the small spray holes for plugging. Use a vacuum in the center hole and poke out each plugged hole. Unless your vacuum allows wet pick-up, make sure the arm is dry first. Try using a capsule type of detergent instead of liquid. You might have to tear down the lower spray arm assembly to the deck to clean the large screen which may be plugged with water/food deposits. Use hot water, detergent and white vinegar to clean the screen. Hope this helps!

Bosch dishwasher is not filling with water and detergent is not being released.

The soap wont come out if there is no water. Does the detergent flap open? If so, the dispenser is OK. If not, you need a new dispenser. If the machine is not filling, check the pressure switch and or the tubes that go to the pressure switch, they may be blocked, tricking the machine into thinking its already full of water.

Hello,
Theres a Floater inside the tub protecting against overflow. when it is pushed up or stuck by debris, and does not fall down to its inactive position, it can prevent water from filling. So be sure there is no debris and move the floater up and down until it falls down in its normal position.

Also dishwashers can lose their pump prime and will not fill with water if there is no priming water in the bottom of the unit. To solve this problem, you must add several quarts of water to the unit. Let it settle down in the bottom until it stops going down. Start the washer and you will hear this water pump out of the drain and the unit will now fill with fresh water..

Thank you..Regards!!..

Dishes not geting cleaned. Soap is left in the door dispenser only partially used.

Hi

If you are noticing that the dishes are not clean, then there are a few things to check for. Check the soap powder if it's kept in a dry environment. Also try replacing the powder with something like a gel or liquid. Next thing to check for is the water pressure and fill valve. Check if the water is filling in and the spray arms are throwing the water with enough pressure. Try and listen to the sound if you hear a proper spraying action sound.

If it seems as a low water pressure then check the fill valve. Now, check if dishwasher is draining the water or not. While the dishwasher is working check whether the dishwasher is draining and there is not much left out water after the cycle is complete. Try cleaning the spray arm with a soft brush. The water temperature plays a major role in cleaning of dishes. The temp should be between 125 and 150 F for dishwasher to clean the dishes. Hope this helps...

The soap dose not dispence

Hi

Dishwashers use Bi-Metal strip to allow the dispenser to open/close. This strip when heat up causes the soap door spring to open up the dispenser. If this strip is not heated doesn't allow the door to open. The strip may not be getting 120V or maybe disconnected. Newer (plastic liner) Maytag dishwashers use a wax motor to open the soap dispenser. The plunger inside the wax motor slowly moves and pushes the plunger and door open. And, if this wax motor doesn't receive 120 volts, then it

Dishwasher is leaving soap in dispenser and dishes aren't clean

Look for debris in the holes of the wash arms. Is the soap dispenser opening? If so you probably have either no water in the machine or no ciculation. Also be aware sometimes a fill valve will work for the first few fills and then not work once it is heated up a little. And the valve could be clogged causeing low or no water to enter the machine.

Dishwasher won't fill

The only three things left are:
Is the flow to the fill valve adequate...kinked line...for instance.  Drain valve is partly jammed...letting water out early or timer is bad..I'd go with the valve.  You may be able to clean it out.

Maytag Dishwasher Will Not Rinse

You are probably not getting enough water into the machine. Replace water inlet valve (solenoid valve) and this should solve the problem.

My Maytag dishwasher does not seem to getting water. After the cycle the soap is still in dispensor and dried up. I did not put in dispensor and placed them on the bottom and they were still there after...

When the dishwasher is nopt getting water into the machine, it means that either the floating sensor is stuck, or the water inlet valve is obstructed or defective.

" If there's no water entering your dishwasher, check these:

Water-inlet valve
Float switch
Water-inlet valve The water-inlet valve lets water enter the machine. If this valve is defective, you need to completely replace it. It's usually located behind the lower access panel on the left or right side. It's the device with the main water line (usually copper) from the house, a rubber tube to the dishwasher, and two wires attached to it.

Float switch The float switch is a small electrical switch that's located right below the dishwasher "floor." Above the switch, on the inside of the dishwasher, is a plastic cylinder that floats up as water fills the dishwasher. If this switch is defective, or if the plastic float gets caught or trapped in the raised position, the water can't enter the dishwasher. If the float switch is defective, you need to replace it."

MDB3100 Soap Dispenser Problem

In the main wash, once it fills completely, stop the cycle, ccount to 10 then open the door and observe the water level. It should be filled to over the heat element and covering the pump cover. If you observe that then it is ok there. If the water level starts falling then you have a siphon issue. Your drain hose must then be adjusted to go across the top of the dishwasher and then form and form a dip or a loop so that you have a "trap" in the line and then attach it to your drain connection. Elevating the hose and forming a trap should eliminate the water drainage. Also, if the water level is correct, you should be able to listen to the wash arms rotating with a rhythmic, whoosh... whoosh, sound. If you observe this then it has to wash the soap out. If the water level is normal and you don't hear the whooshing, then you will have a possible filter or pump issue, which will require disassembly and inspection. The filter can be removed and cleaned under running water, using an old toothbrush,or similar brush to clean the holes. Also, you will want to inspect the upper and lower wash arms for obstructions or lime build up. Follow the link below for disassembly procedures and parts.

Water Inlet Valve for Maytag MDB3100

You can save considerable money if you change the valve yourself. I sold Maytag dishwashers for over 25 yrs. and there are still a lot of those out there. Very simple to work on and last a long time with minimal maintenance.
