Its due to realys

the click sound is due to relays.
they switch every time there is some kind of short circuiting in the circuit.

these relays protect your unit from damage of other components.

and hence u can find where the shorting is occurring.

else make it found by a tech.

Sometimes after a power failure the p c board needs re setting. Turn off the power for a few minutes that allows it time to re set. Turn it back on then individually turn on each element for a couple of minutes.

E machine monitor turns itself off and on

The same thing happened to me today. I was just sitting in my room then i hear a click and the cpu is on it stays on for a while then cuts off. It then cuts on and off with few seconds in between. It then stays in that way cutting and off for about a minite or two and then cuts off completely. A few minutes later it starts again. Also in the time it its off it will not turn on by pressing the power button. Sometimes it completly boots up by itself and then shuts itself down. If I shut it down manually while its on it'll turn itself on immeditaly after. What's going on! Will the warranty cover it? Do I need a new computer?

The contacts MAY be bad in the switch, in spite of it "clicking".

Test the switch with a continuity tester.
