Vizio shuts itself off

I HAVE A VIZIO LCD FLAT SCREEN TV THAT SHUTS ITSELF OFF. Sometimes It Shuts Off At Short Intervals, Sometimes It Runs For Hours Without Shutting Off. Any Suggestions? Is there any solution other than calling a service repair person? It is off warranty.

I have found that turning off the power for awhile will work as a temp fix for a couple of days and then just repeat the process.

We experienced this problem intermittently for about 2 years and tried everything before solving accidentally: Wifey moved the tv less than a 3" and it stopped doing it. The only thing I can figure, is its stand was somehow postioned atop the flooring braces as to make it susceptible to jostling. I know it sound absurd - but try relocating the tv. If nothing else - it's a free

Hi,
a 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
the service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.
goodluck!

Why does my vizio tv only stay on for a few seconds before the picture goes fuzzy and the tv makes a very loud screeching noise and shuts itself off

Sounds like the power supply board has gone out. It can probably be replaced, but only by someone qualified to do so.

My television shuts back off when i turn it on.

It may thing there is short circuits, so the power supply shuts down to protect itself from further damages. Look at the power supply first since it is easier to get to, look for burnt parts, bad capacitors, etc.

My Vizio shuts off after 5 - 10 minutes. When I turn it back on, it continues to shut itself off from 1 - 10 minutes. Can you tell me why this is happening and howto fix the problem? Thanks. Model: VIZIO...

Try this: on your remote will be a button labeled "menu" that should contain a list of items you can adjust...I'd look to the automatic timer feature and check to see if somehow this has been set up to turn off the TV.

Vizio shuts itself off

There may be some components failing in the power supply or one of the circuit boards that are causing too high a current pull.

I realize that this answer is very vague. Without doing proper diagnostics, it is impossible to guess at something like this.

Out of warranty repairs on these sets can be very expensive. I would suggest that if the set is going to be expensive to service, it would be best to replace it with a known brand name that offers an extended warranty with local service. You will pay more, but you will have dependability and better quality.
