Question about Alpine Car Speakers & Subwoofers

1 Answer

My son had an Alpine IDA-X001 and a Sirius Connect Vehicle Tuner installed in his 2005 Pontiac Grand Prix yesterday. The Sirius is not activated at this time. He is experiancing problems with his car gauges now (they zero out intermitently)- the dealer says it looks like something is draining power - the reciever looks to be the problem. any ideas?

I believed so that something is draining power in your circuit. I suggest that you must activate the SIrius now and check together with the Alpine if it help fix the problem. It is maybe it turns out to be that the Sirius resist the flow of power when it is not activated.

H1! I have an X001 and an iphone.....everytime I shut my car off I lose my bluetooth connection and I have to re-establish my connection every time I get back in the car... Any ideas?

Are you using a bluetooth box? The bluetooth box will lose power when car is shut off as it is directly connected to the ACC (ignition) lead. I am going to paste the diagram here, but if it doesn't work and shows the big red X, I will follow up with a separate comment.

Please verify if this is the manner in which your system is wired, and we will work from there... Thank you!

I need to kno what the colors for a 2003 Pontiac Grand Prix wire harness so i can hookup my new aftermarket cd player beacuse my old one was stolen and the wires were cut off and my factory harness was cut...

Try visiting the scosche or PAC websites to see if they have the vehicle side of the harness. I would recommend you install using the harness and a wiring harness. hope this helps.

I am installing alpine ixa-w407 into a 2000 suzuki grand vitara. is there anything i should know aside from hooking up the harness and antenna from vehicle into the alpine?

You should check to see if it has an remote out in the back ...cause if you are planing to install an amplifier will need it ...cause amplifiers (specially for woofers ) are connecting to the power directly to the + of the battery ..and the - on the body (ground) ..and it is switched on the remote cable attached on the player ..This way it will power on in the same time and also react on the break on ..and when the key is switched off.
Also for an amplifier it should have rca out separate from teh normal left and right stereo going to the speakers ..
The rest is just standard harness ..

My am radio doesnt work , but my fm does and my sirius does, whats wrong

May be your car has an in-glass radio antenna. Because these don't perform as well as mast antennas, there's an antenna amplifier built into the vehicle.

When installing a new head unit, it's necessary to connect the "power antenna" wire in the radio harness. This activates the antenna amplifier. If you leave this disconnected, the result is the problem you're describing.

Since the vehicle doesn't have an actual motorized antenna, many installers overlook the power antenna connection in the harness. Also, after-market adapter harnesses use a blue wire for this function, and your Radio head unit has only a blue/white output.

The answer, then, is to check the back of the radio, and make sure the blue/white wire from the Radio deck is connected to the blue wire in the adapter harness.

I just had an alpine iDa-x200 interface unit installed in my car. It connected to my IPod fine the first day. Now it says "no usb device" I've checked the connections and they're fine. Why doesn't it...

Ive had the same problem with pioneer. I reset the unit and it worked once again but wasnt perfect. Id call Alpine cust. service tech to see about any "known" issues.
