Here's the news...you can't.

The Insignia players are "Master" units and not "Slave" units. Your phone is another master unit and will not talk with the Insignia player since the Insignia player doesn't have a "slave" mode.

If there was a passkey on the Insignia player, it would be 0000 or 1234...with is pretty standard for most BT slave devices like headphones and speakers.

How do i pair my phone to play on my insignia speaker?

1. Press and hold the button to put the speaker in "Pairing/Connecting" mode. You should see a red and blue light flashing in rapid succession somewhere on the speaker.
2. Turn on Bluetooth on the phone and tap on Scan. The phone will start scanning for nearby Bluetooth devices. When you see that it detected a device with a name similar to the speaker's name, tap on the name to pair with the phone. If you are asked for a passcode/passkey, enter '0000' or '1234' (without the quotes). If the two pair, the light on the speaker will turn to a steady blue and you will see 'Connect' on the phone. Tap on Connect and then you will see Connected on the phone. Your phone and the speaker are now connected.

The steps above should be detailed in the set up guide that came with the speaker. There may even be a passkey/code provided in the guide. Use that one for pairing instead of the passkey I suggested above. Please note that pairing is a one-time procedure, required only the first time you are connecting the phone to the speaker, a "get to know you" procedure. After that, you just need to connect the two.

Me and my friend are trying to pair up with bluetooth and we booth have Verizon and when we try to connect it says need paskey. We enter one and it says it dosent work. What is the paskey then?

you both have to enter the same passkeys on both the phones. Try 000, its simple and faster to type. Also remember, there is a time limiter for entering the passkey on the 2nd phone, if you do not enter the passkey within that time, then the Bluetooth pairing will fail and you have to start all over again.
Once both the phones are connected, you can choose your friend's phone as 'Authorized/Trusted' so you don't need to enter passkeys next time you pair them up.

I do not understand what this passkey for bluetooth connection is. I don't have a bluetooth headset but im trying to pair my samsung highlight with a samsung messenger 2. I have already tried the four...

Step 1
Check your device for a sticker with the passkey printed on it. Typically headsets and car stereos have the passkey printed on a small sticker attached at the rear of the device.
  • Step 2 Look in your device's instruction book to see if the passkey is written inside. Each device has a unique passkey, so the passkey for your device will typically be printed on a sticker or inserted into your instruction book, as opposed to in the directions themselves.
  • Step 3 Check the Bluetooth menu for your device. Cell phones and computers often have their passkeys within the Bluetooth menu. Look for the "Pairing Code" or "Passkey" option. Some laptop computers generate a random code each time you need it, so you may have a option for this task.
  • Step 4 Check in forums for your particular device to see if someone has posted the passkey. Typically a search for your device and "Pairing Code" will bring up information regarding the code or where you might successfully find it.
  • Step 5 Call customer servicemag-glass_10x10.gif for your device if you can't find the passkey printed on the device, in the instruction book or in the menu. Customer service should be able to either tell you the passkey for your device or give you detailed instructions on how to find it.

Pairing probs with insignia bluetooth wireless headphns to iphone, device is showing up on iphone, but no sound

have your put a new battery in your headphones.
they show 10 hours of continuous play so the battery may be charged enough to pair but not to power the headphones.
Change the batteries and try it.

Can't pair bluetooth headphones with Insignia Pilot MP3 player

the directions from Samsung to pair the headset was way off. You need to hold down the main button then turn on the headset. Only then will the headset go into pairing mode by maintaining a solid blue light. It took me a couple of days of troubleshooting and experimenting to realize this pairing method. I just hope that this problem is only due to my headset because I assume a lot of people who buy this headset and try out Samsung's directions will become very frustrated. I almost returned the product and I am sure many others would too.

    Bluetooth pairing

that motorola is in the series of bluetooths that all have 0000 for pin numbers and they are NOT changeable.
turn bluetooth off push the button with the phone on it until lited LED turns Purple immediately release and open mic, now it is ready to pair.
then go to the phone tool>bluetooth> search for device enter pin 0000
it will then verify and Voila you are set

    BlueTooth/ Insignia Mp3 Player

If you access the settings menu on the player, you'll see the bluetooth settings. You'll need to turn on the bluetooth radio. Then on your bluetooth device you'll need to activate the "pairing" sequence. With both devices set to "pairing", look back on the player and check to see if it found the receiver in the bluetooth settings. You'll probably be asked to input a passkey. If the device doesn't require a passkey, then just accept and start playing music.

If you need more specific instructions, let me know and also include what device you are trying to pair with. I'll walk you through it.
