Mymusix mp3 PD 6070 1gb version

When I turn it on, it shows "MyMusix", and then nothing.
When I connect it to my computer (WinXP) it show "New hardware found / MTP Device" and then nothing.
I had downloaded the update 2.1 on the official website, but it doesn't work.

Only follow the advice I am about to give if you have read the company's website/manual and done troubleshooting with them first. This is complicated and is more of a last resort sort of thing:

Unplug the mp3 player, uninstall the MTP Device on your computer, and then replug the Mp3 player. Start --> Control Panel --> Printers and Other Hardware --> System --> Hardware --> Device Manager --> click on plus sign next to Windows Devices (wording varies from computer to computer - click on every plus sign if you can't find it) --> double-click on MTP Device --> Uninstall

My mp3 player wont turn on

This might be a tricky one to solve - may take more than one method.
Start by resetting the player. Then replugging it into the computer.
If it still fails:
Uninstall the PD-6030 via device manager. The PD-6030 needs to plugged in to do this. Go to Start, Control Panel and select 'Performance an Maintenance'. Then Select 'System'. Then select the 'Hardware Tab' and select 'Device Manager'. Then find a device called 'Portable Devices' or 'Windows Portable Device'. Then select the + sign next to the device and right click the 'Audio Player'. Select 'Uninstall'. Click 'OK' when it asks you if it is OK to uninstall. Then select 'Action' at the top of the Window and select 'Scan for hardware changes'. Then once it re-installs the driver, see it operates
correctly. Also, performing a firmware recovery procedure can work to make your computer recognize the PD-6030. Please follow the set of instructions titled, "Q: How to recover my player's firmware?".

The firmware upgrade can be found at www.mymusix.com

Delete music from pd-6070

The MyMusix device software is buggy and prone to break downs from time to time. Reformatting the device usually fixes these problems. The best way to reformat is to use the manufactures firmware update process.

Go to the MyMusix.com website and download and install the firmware upgrade for the PD-6070 player using the download drop-down menu.

Back up all of the songs on your player to your computer hard drive.

Carefully read (or better yet print for future reference) the PD-6070 FAQ instructions for running the firmware upgrade, especially the drop down to select the US version of the firmware.

Run the firmware upgrade. It will reformat your device and restore it to it's original capacity.

MP3 PLAYER JUST SHOW MYMUSIX, WON'T GO TO MENU

If you have a Windows-based computer,
Try this: disconnect the player from the computer, turn it off, hold in the volume + button, and reconnect the player to the computer while holding the volume + button in. Keep holding the volume + button for an additional 5-50 seconds. Windows should eventually go into recovery mode and revive the player- it will pop up a window that says Found New Hardware Wizard.

If that fails,
Check the battery polarity. (+ and - must be in correct psoition)
Set the hold button to the unlock position.
Check if the file system is NTFS. If yes ,format it to FAT or FAT32. - Connect player to computer, click my computer, right click on icon of mp3 player and select format
If that fails,
go to www.mymusix.com to see if the latest software update will correct the problem

The MTP detection problem software download fixed it for me. I don't know why this download isn't mentioned on their FAQ on the site.

Unit Won't Turn On

I found some directions on mymusix.com. Basically, it recharges through the USB connection so plug it into the computer. Then wait for the little battery picture to be full to indicate the battery is charged. I am waiting...
If you don't even get a picture of a battery, you have a bigger problem. Check the website for adding firmware (under FAQs, under the 6070) and if that doesn't work, you might need to take it back to Radioshack and tell them. They seem to be good about taking things back..I think the one I bought is a return since it already has music on it. Not sure if that is good or bad.
