This sure does happen a lot.
Get serial # Call Kenwwod Customer service,
They will either have you send it in to reprogram the PROM
Or ask you for proof of purchase to give you the code.
If you have no receipt, and you or someone else didn't acquire it late at night in a inappropriate way, tell them it was a gift, that's not immoral, I buy myself gifts all the time : )

Tips for a great answer:
Unfortunately Kenwood Radios can only be decoded on a bench and must be connected directly to specialist software. They cannot be decoded via serial alone. There is however a special procedure that can be used to bypass the security on these units using a master code 5227 (KCAR) which I will outline below.
