Head phone not working on 2008 Chrysler Asp...

Head phones for DVD player in a 2007 or 2008 Chrysler Aspen will not come on. I have replaced batteries in both the headphones and remote. When i turn off the dvd the sound still plays through the radio.

It is a rental car and I was given additional head sets and no manual and told to just keep playing with the dvd. Could there be something turned off programing of the radio or dvd it self?

- This dvd is factory installed by Chrysler and iscalle Ves (video electronic system).
