You may have a damaged disc or one that the player can not read either from scratches or the type of CD if it is one burned on a computer. CD-R is the most compatible with many stereos for both home and auto.

Are you trying to play burned cds some stereos wont play them.

you can get the CD's removed by any stereo repair shop but the CD player is toast.

Being a 2005, I would go to the dealer, assuming you bought the vehicle new, and tell them just how much you love your car and would hate to replace the radio with an aftermarket stereo.

This technique works well because dealers want happy customers.

Furthermore, they should have at least one or two extra radios laying around

I had this problem in my 05 GT at about 50K miles, and had to get the stereo replaced. (It was covered by my extended warranty.) They have to send the old unit back to the factory to get the CDs out but will get them back to you when in a week or 2.

is it fitted correctly does it have a good earth check fuse on back of stereo check fuse under dash and also under hood if it has one there try holding the reset button for 15 secs
