Question about Hoover Floormate H3000 Upright Wet/Dry Vacuum

H300 brushes won't stop spinning even though I switch it from "wet scrub" to "wet/dry pickup" and is leaving streaks on the floor. I have already ordered a new squeege, but that won't take care of the non-stop brush problem. Any suggestions?

The brushes don't stop spinning even though the switch is pulled all the way to "WET/DRY PICKUP." The vacuum has stopped picking up water, and it looks as though the sqeegee portion of the vacuuum is not touching the floor. Because the brushes keep spinning, there's always new solution being applied to the floor surface. NO GOOD!!

I have found that the plastic piece on mine is wore out and slips when the trigger is pulled back. If you look underneath the dirty tank, you will see the black plastic pieces that over lap. I took a wiretie/zip strip and placed it around the spot where the pieces join and made sure it was real tight. This seemed to fix my problem (until the wire tie starts to wear out and stretch at least)

Make sure you REALLY pull the lever controlling the brush spin all the way up. On mine I REALLY need to force it to the top. If I don't use enough force and it's just a tiny bit below the top, the brushes continue spinning. I wish it was easier to flip from one mode to the other but mine has always been "stiff". Hope this helps. It took me a while to figure it out. Once you get the hang of using it, it works GREAT!

Why are the brushes not spinning?

Hi Liz, if your brushes are still in good shape and do not need replacing then I would see if something else isn't broken or busted. You can always check for an obstruction in the brushes or remove the brush assembly & then reseat the brush assembly. Before doing so you should remove both Tanks from your Hoover. Then there are two buttons on top of the Nozzle Assembly that holds the brushes. You will need to release these two buttons on top, then tilt the handle of the unit backwards and this should let the brush assemble fall out of place. Inspect the brush assembly for any obstruction and even check to see if all the brushes still spin okay. If all looks good then align the post on top of the brush assembly with the hole on the bottom of the nozzle assembly and then snap the brush assembly back into place. I know this might sound crazy but did you first check to make sure that you did not have the switch set to "Wet\Dry Pickup." This will stop the brushes from turning as the switch needs to be in the other position to turn.

Brushes don't spin

Hello :
try this please : switch the carpet/bare floor dial back & forth 5 times, ending on carpet. Tilt the handle back as if to vacuum upright & lay the vacuum on its side so it is resting on the side opposite the carpet/bare floor dial. Turn the vacuum on.
or try this also if the above suggestion didn't work :
Maybe the belt is broke. You will have to replace the belt before the roller can spin. You must have run over something in the carpeting like string or whatever to have it break. Happens all the time. Get several replacement belts to keep as spares while you're at it as nothing is worse then having to vacuum and no spare belts.

Dirty water comes out when I stop scrubbing. Floors remain wet.

Try one thing... the filter cover must be clicked into place. I thought it just sat on top, but it has to be pushed into place.

Floormate Spinbrush

Not sure if this will help but these machines are ment to be used in one direction not back and forth like a vacuum cleaner. You should start in one spot and pull towards you slowly with the trigger depressed it is designed to spray scrub and pick up the solution all in one pass by going back and forth you are pushing the rubber across dry parts of the floor and it will make noises. I have a H3000 Floor Mat the problem is it won’t pick up the water after the scrub clean the floor. What could be the causing the problem?

I would advise you to ALWAYS to FIRST UNPLUG YOUR VACUUM before beginning any service procedure.
The problem could be that the Hoover H3000 Floor Mat could be clogged or something is blocking the suction port or you may have a pinched line of some type of which would cause it to not pickup, feel free to check with a local vacuum dealer in your area or in the yellow pages or the Hoover factory phone number is listed below:

Spin Scrub Brushes won't turn

If the brushes quit spinning, either the brush block shaft that goes into the turbine broke off, or the turbine is bad. This unit is tricky to take apart and then put back together again. But pull the brush asm off, then start taking out screws. But if after you pull off the brush block, look up where you will see a small square hole, turn unit on and if not turning, usually the turbine is the cause and will have to be replaced.

If you are talking about the hard wood floor brush you hook it at the end of the one slightly bent wand. Look at the end of the brush that you would hook to the wand. In the circle opening there are two slits. On the end of the wand there are two bumps. You need to line them up, push the brush on then twist it around so it stays on. then you attach the straight wand to that and the other slightly bent wand at the other end of the straight one. It will go like this Wet hose, slightly bent wand, straight wand, slightly bent wand, and floor brush. I hope I helped. Leave the basin empty. put your water or cleaner on the floor scrub it around then turn machine on and suck it up.
