This is probably is simple problem with missing drivers. Since Windows 7 is backwards compatible with most of the hardware and software used with Windows XP you simply need to go to the Sony website and download the respective driver for your camera. Click here to be redirected to the Sony Drivers and Support website.
Make sure the Operating System selected is Windows XP and download both the camera driver and the utility.
