Hissing Noise I am hearing a hissing noise coming out of my speakers when I shut off my TV.  I have to lower the speaker volume on the DVD remote to avoid the hiss. Any clues?

This is a common problem and all you really can do is to turn the speakers off when you are not using them which is also good for your energy bill!!!

My Receiver is emmitting a loud high pitch hissing and cracking noise when volume is raised in Video 1 and Video 2. It is not the speakers as they all work and have the same noise coming out of...

This happens only in Video 1 or Video 2 using analog audio? Try using an HDMI cable or the digital input(optical or coaxial) cable and see if this issue is heard though these connections as well. Hissing noise coming from all speakers when 5.1 system is on, does not increase with volume

Is it DANGEROUSLY LOUD hissing, like undecoded digital data?

Maybe you have a DTS source coming in on analog cables or your unnamed HTS can't deal with it or whatever digital bitstream you're feeding it.

Read the manual.

Hi, I own An HT-AS720ST surround System. I just had the Receiver fixed because the right front speaker was hissing and you coundn't understand it. Now I hooked it up tonight and the left rear speaker is...

Hissing is cused by noise interference which is usually bad cableing or bad reception of the station or device if wireless then check out your hosehold appliances and start shutting them off one at a time and see if that clears it up. Somethng is tagging along for the ride on the same freq or close to the freq if wireless

Hissing and Humming when trying to use the speakers for the tv

The sony manual tells you how to connect to a TV however most of us now watch TV connected to a SKY box. The Scart lead needs to be connected to the Sky box for the sound to work correctly. Ignore the Manual and connect the Scart lead from the DVD Unit directly into you're sky box. It works fine.

Gurus, I just bought Samsung Home Theater System which i connected to my Hitachi TV with HDMI cable. I have a Optical Cable going from HT to my TV Optical port. I have another connection from my cable

On the remote control for the Samsung Home Theater System look at the bottom left to a button that says "MODE", those moods change the sound each speaker gives off. if that doesn't work, you might need new wiring because there are other wires that are more durable than the ones that come with it, much better too.

Loud hissing through rear (souround sound) speakers

I have the Sony Bravia KDL-46S4100. The high-picthed hiss drives me insane. I have a work around but not a fix. Go into your TV's menu and find BACKLIGHT. Adjust it from 1-9 with the house quiet and find what frequency of the hiss is the least annoying.

Sony Bravia high pitch hiss hissing sound high frequency
