Question about Mitsubishi WD-52525 52" Rear Projection HDTV

Bad Mits capacitors

I have the blue flickering screen problem with my wd52525. I disassembled the electrical chassis and found 4 bad capacitors. I have ordered enough to replace all of the potential trouble capacitors because I don't want to have to do this again.

After I replace the capacitors I will try to reassemble the tv but to tell the truth, I'm not real confident, lol.

Is there a detailed description for putting this thing back together? If not, it may end up in the landfill!!!

If your going thru all this trouble, be sure to check the 4 capacitors on the DM board (1000mf/16volt), the 4 caps on the formatter board (1000MF/16volt) and the 2 caps on the power supply board (3300mf/10 volt) Mitsu recoomends changing the 1000mf caps to 680MF/16volt.
It is kind of a pain to change these.
good luck

I have a Mits WS 819 65". The tv only turns on

I had a similar problem. I had a 52" RCArear projection tv. It would do this when I initially turned on the television, but then after a few "on/off, on/off, on/off" cycles it would stay on. Eventually it started doing it more; until finally there was a spark and that was it. The tv was dead. The bloggers called it "the blinking green light of death" (because of green light on the panel). The power board is going out.ALSO holding down the Input and Menu buttons afterward will give you some diagnostic information via 2 sets of blinking indicator lights.

You may very well have issues with capacitors on this set being that it is or very similar to the V26 chassis. Since I have spare test lamps laying around, I would normally try that first. If the lamp still would not stay lit, I would then suspect the electrical chassis (capacitors). When I suspect the chassis, I can usually verify it by pulling it out and partially disassemble it and find blown capacitors

Capacitors going bad on your DM or FMT board. Very difficult to replace, but Mits does a rebuild on the chassis. I recommend talking to your Mits service center and getting the rebuild done.

Mits TV blue Screen

I fortuneatly bought a 4 yr warranty from Best Buy on my Mits. same thing happened with the blue screen fuzzy white diamond. The geek squad techie showed me the 2 capacitors that go bad on the power board and he ordered them and once they were replaced the TV worked perfect again. I have 2 weeks left on the warranty, so i'm calling them today to get my last free bulb(screen is kinda darkening, kinda) hopefully i can convince the technician. This was one warranty that bad for itself.

if you have any electronic skills you can replace these capacitors yourself, once you get into the guts of your unit.

Good Luck

Sounds like the 1000uf capacitors on the FMT board need replacing. This is a common symptom with that chassis. There are three 1000uf caps that fail on that PC Board

Whou ever !!!

that chassis has bad capacitors. two 1000uf capacitors on the PWB can cause the problem your describing but I wouldnt attempt the repair without the manual as the chassis is hard to remove, the manual makes it easier. you can get the manual at this link and they will give you free tech support as well.

There is a 5, 9 & 12 volt dc regulator on the chassis that could be causing this. Three legged transistors on small heat sinks. I f you look at the chassis from the rear of tv, is two boards. The one on the left has these reg. transistors. Usually the 9v regulator is bad and a 35ufd @ 50v capacitor near it is bad. From the tuner as ground check the third leg on the regulator for less than 9v dc.
