DOES THE VIVITAR vIVICAM f126 NEED TO BE TURNED ON to charge it? Should thd SD card be removed while charging? How does one know when it is fully charged?

No. not usually but check to manual.

No.

The manual should tell you how long it takes to charge but the on screen battery display will indicate the charge level
Usually the camera will download the images and then go into charge mode if you're using USB

What to do my vivcam 8320 will not hold charge.

When you say my camera will not hold charge, I think you mean your battery (rechargeable) will not. It is normal, that (rechargeable) batteries have a limited life time. Limited can mean from 90 days till 10 years. It depends how often is it charged and how is it used. When you leave a better unused for a very long time. it could cause more damage then using it regularly. When a camera is not used for a long time, the best thing you can do to extend the lifetime of your battery is to charge it at least every 3 months.
Now I'm afraid you have to buy a new one.
Take your camera to a photo shop and ask them to put in a new one, so you can check if that solves your problem, before you buy one. Look whet a battery costs. Sometimes they ask more that the cost of a new camera with a new battery.

All photos I take have suddenly become blurred on my vivitar Vivicam 8225

The reasons why Photos get blurry might not always be an issue with the lens. Here are a few things you should consider -
1) Check if the Battery of the Camera is fully charged. This can hugely effect the outcome of your pictures.
2) Make sure the Memory Card is not full.
3) Check for the Macro or Normal mode. To do this, simply check the top of the LCD Screen. If you find a "Flower" Icon, then the camera is set into Macro mode. To change this, press the OK/Menu button. Find the Macro menu and press up/down to make Macro Off and Normal (Mountain Icon) to On. The camera is now changed into Normal Mode and a Mountain/Pyramid icon should be there at the top of your screen.
4) Try increasing the resolution. Again press the OK/Menu button and press Right/Left until you find a "Lines" icon. Press the Down/Up arrow to choose the resolution. 8M is the highest. Press OK to confirm.
Note - Higher the resolution, better the picture quality but lesser the number of pictures you can save.
5) Check if there is a Crossed Thunder Bolt icon on the LCD screen. If you find one, the flash has been turned off. To turn it on, press the Up/Thunder Bolt. A Crossed Arrow with an A should appear. This indicates the Camera has been set to auto Flash.

Hope the images get better with these tips. You can always call Sakar International at 877-397-8200

most camera are sold with "flat batterys" in them (its a fire hazard thing) so you need to fully recharge the batterys before use or the camera will just turn its self off,,,look at the hand book for charge times? dont try using it on half charged batterys you only kill off the battery that way,,,

I've lost my charger. can i charge it directly

My Vivitar Vivicam 8320 uses a 5.0V 1.5A DC output transformer that plugs either into the little square charger for the lithium battery or plugs directly into the camera itself.

How do you turn the flash on? (with the vivitar vivicam 8018)

Your camera has a built in flash function which enables you to take photos when the light condition is not good.

1. Press the Up button. (for reference of buttons, please see the below figure mentioned)
2. Press the Up button once until you see the icon appear on the LCD screen. This indicates that the flash is forced on.
3. Press the Up button again to change to the auto flash function.
4. The icon will appear at the top of the LCD indicating that the auto flash is turned on and ready to use.
5. Press the Up button again to change from the auto flash to the red eye function.
6. The icon will appear on the LCD indicating that the red eye reduction function has been activated.
7. To turn off the flash function, press the Up button again until the icon is displayed on the LCD.

Note: A “Low Power” message will appear on the LCD screen, if you select the flash function when the battery power is insufficient. To continue using the camera with the flash, please change new batteries

Battery level

As Suzaku explained:
A battery icon will show up on the LCD screen of your camera when it is already low and needs recharging. It can be found at the lower right side of your LCD screen. The ready light of your camera will also blink red and your camera will turn off if the battery is exhausted.
NOTE:
The icon will not appear if the batery is sufficient and there is no TECH way of making the icon show until the batt needs charging.

Did you put a memory card in the camera?
My camera did this today, and I resolved it by putting a memory card in, but even when one has been out before it still turned on, so I'm not sure that is the resolution. Did you ever find out what was causing it?
