Our electricity was off for 3 days when we were out of town. Most of the stuff in the freezer defrosted and leaked. Is there a way to get to the drip pan under the unit. I took the lower back panel off and can see stuff in the pan. It smells terrible. How do I remove it to clean it?

My frige stops working after 3 days of running

What does the timer power? If it's a heater that defrosts the coil, check that.

My freezer is automatically defrosting how do i stop this from running my food

Your freezer is SUPPOSED to automatically defrost. If it does not defrsot by itself, within a week so frost will be built up in the freezer no cold air will flow into the fresh food compartment and soon ALL the food in that compartment will be runied followed soon after by the stuff in the freezer. Unless something is wrong with the defrost cycle it defrst for 25 minutes every 72 hours (3 days) and make it so everything is in good working order and air flows as it is intended too. If your experiencing the defrost staying on for more that a hour at a time thats a problem but if it defrost about every 3 days all is well and should be left alone to work just fine as it was designed to do.

Traulsen commercial Freezer digital controller won't set thermostat high and low points to correct temps. It is acting like it is a fridge, not a freezer.

For this kind of problem, I'm only thinking of 3 things. The Thermostat, adaptive Defrost Control and the Freon. You need an assistance of a freezer technician here.

1. The tech would check first if there are leaks on the tubes. Checking the leaks are hard to find. The only indication that there's a leak is a moisture on the tube itself.

2. The tech would check if the freezer is running out of FREON. If yes, then he would reload freon on it.

3. Then he would go and check the thermostat and last the adaptive defrost control.

This should not cost you too much. $25 could be enough. Have a great day!

Water is leakig from behind the control panel

You did the right thing by trying to clear the drain in the back of the freezer, but it must not have cleared. If the ice maker is not leaking then the only other source of water can be defrosting ice build up on the evaporator coils when it goes through its cycle. You know your drain is clear when water can flow down it. Defrosting your refrigerator completly usually solves this. If it does not, then check to make sure the freezer compartment fan is working, next it may be either your thermostat or timer control. Those are pretty much the only possibilties.

The other day the freezer was not that cold but there was frost on some of the stuff in the back. We moved stuff around and the freezer was back to being cold. Now our refrigerator is not cold, we turned...

The freezer section has the only cooling coil. It sounds like it is blocked with frost and thus wont let the air circulate from freezer to refrigerator.

There is a defrost timer, (or board), a defrost heater, and a defrost safety thermostat. Any One of these or a combination of 2 can be your problem. If you have a energy efficient model that has electronic controls then you will have a board. The procedures for checking the circuit on a board vary by manufacturer of the board used and manufacturer of the appliance.

The defrost heater always has resistance and is attached to the freezer coil.
The defrost thermostat is also attached to the heater electrically, unless it is an electronic sensor type. Sensor types have a range of resistance that needs to be known to check and varies slightly with the temperature of the sensor.

If I haven't lost you here you maybe equipped with the life experiences that will allow you to do most of these checks. If its over your understanding I recommend you contact a reliable technician.

Samsung Fridge Freezer leaking water

hi August.
Cause: A blocked defrost drain is one of the most common causes of water leakage. This happens when food particles or other debris clogs up the drain hose, which can lead to ice buildup and, eventually, water leaking out of the freezer and refrigerator.
3 common refrigerator problems you can easily fix yourself

The freezer drain hose will drain the defrost water into a drip pan at the bottom of the freezer. When this pan becomes full, it will leak water onto the floor. This is a regular maintenance task whenever the freezer defrosts. Empty the drip pan during the defrost cycle.
How to Fix Water Leaking From the Bottom of Freezer

Why is my fridge leaking water on the floor? If the refrigerator is leaking water it's possible that the refrigerator has a clogged or freezing defrost drain. If the defrost drain freezes the defrost water will overflow the drain and drip down to the bottom of the compartment, If enough water accumulates in the bottom it can run out onto the floor.

Hotpoint FFA60 frost free fridge freezer approx 4 years old. Fridge seems fine but freezer is only just about keeping stuff frozen and is not cold enough to freeze fresh stuff properly. There is a small...

before you scrap it clean the coils under the machine and make sure the airflow is not obstructed in any way then...

Check to see if there is any frost buildup in the back wall of the freezer. If so, it is not defrosting as it should.
  • possible causes:
  1. bad defrost timer
  2. bad defrost heater (in freezer)
  3. bad thermo switch in freezer
If you don’t know what these are then unplug the machine and let the ice melt in the freezer overnight with the door open. Then try it the next day, if is cooling fine then you need to have a service person replace one of the above items.

Kenmore refrigerator leak

I have an Amana refirgerator with a top freezer and had the same problem. I turned off BOTH the frig and the freezer for 24 hours. That allowed every thing to dry out. It has been running now for a week with no problem.
