Simple answer...Take your best working lens to a camera store, and ask to test a sony a100 digital camera. ALL Minolta Maxuum auto focus lenses work with the a100. This includes Konica/minolta type also. If you don't have an auto focus lens, it still might work-but you would loose some features, by swaping camera bodies. In the least it would cost you nothing to find out what camera they would work on, and save you enough money to partly pay for the new camera body you want anyway. Shoot a few stills with your lens on the different bodies-after all your not waisting film-until you find one that is good for you. The camera shop might even have an adapter ring for your lens to the camera body of your choice.

There are adapters available to fit the old Minolta manual-focus lenses on Sony alpha-series dSLRs as well as Sony NEX-series interchangeable lens cameras. The lenses obviously will not autofocus and, depending on the lens and camera body, you may lose some or all exposure metering capability.

Could the minolta x300 somehow be converted-adapted to digital

In theory, yes. You'd have to take out the film mechanism, put in a digital sensor and all the other circuitry required to process and save the image.

In practice, unless you have a circuit fabrication facility in your basement, no. Even if you were to take all the parts out of another digital camera, you'd still have to get everything aligned and connected.

It would be far, FAR cheaper to just buy a digital camera. And if you already have lenses that work with the X300, you'll be able to use them with new Sony alpha-series cameras.

Do Minolta lenses fit on Sony digital slrs?

Yes, but only if they're Minolta autofocus lenses. When Sony bought Konica Minolta, they adopted the same lens mount for their SLR's.

I have 2 quantaray lenses which I brought with my 35mm SRL are these lenses compatiable with Digital SRL cameras???

Which type of lens mount, what digital camera.
Nikons will fit older Nikon lenses.
Canon it seems only fits AF lenses
Olympus digital only takes their own new mounts.
Minolta lenses will fit the new Sony/Minolta digitals.
Pentax digital will take any K-mount or older thread mount. Need to change some menu setting though. Need a K to 42mm for the thread mounts.
Mounts are all different, so a Canon won't fit a Nikon, Sony or Pentax and vise versa.

Minolta SLR Lens on Sony - Does it work.

As I understand it, Sony bought Minolta, lock, stock, and barrel. Theoretically the lenses should fit and may work on manual, but I'm very sure they will not totally work on sony digital cameras. I wouldn't even try to fit them as the autofocus system on the camera may be damaged.

Used on a Minolta Maxxum 800 si

Hello
The Minolta AF lens will fit and work on most of the Minolta AF bodies (it will depend on exactly what lens it is as to the compatibility), you will also find that it will fit and work with the new range of Sony
digital SLR camera bodies.

The Quantaray lenses are a little bit more difficult as Quantaray make lenses for several different types of camera body, it should mention on the lens what make the lens mount is for. If you post further information about the lenses it might help.

The Konica-Minolta 5d, and 7d, both discontinued but available used on ebay and other places will work with your AF lenses, as well as all the sony alpha camera bodies. KM sold their camera business to sony, and most of the whole maxuum/alpha/dynax group of engineers went with the sale to Sony. I had a 7000, and an 8000i, and all my lenses are quite happy on the 7D I picked up a few months ago on ebay.
