How do I view a video that I transferred from my PC to the phone? I know the file was transferred by phone shows "No Videos."

First, be sure that you transferred the video to a designated file on your phone. Try to copy the video into the Media or Videos file on your phone. Then, locate the file on the phone itself and see if the video appears.

If not, your phone may not recognize the video file format. In this case you may need to open the video file on your computer and re-save it in a compatible format that your phone can recognize and play.

Look at the end of the video's file name. After the 'period' there should be three or four letters/numbers at the end that indicate the file format.

Look up "Supported video formats for Android" or "Supported video formats for iOS" (for iPhones) to find a list of which video files your phone can recognize and play. (If you do not have an Android or iPhone, just search whichever kind of phone you have)

Video component

If you check in your owners manual, it will tell you that movie formats are not supported. See quote from your owners manual below (so basicly only picture and music formats are supported on your USB input).
"Only FAT (DOS) formatted (initialized) portable memory is
supported. Errors in this formatting can result in unreadable
content. If such problems appear try to re-format the card. Be
aware that formatting the card will also delete all the content on it (pictures, music, ...).
The following file types are supported: .jpg, .jpeg, .mp3, .alb, .m3u and .pls."

Hi, you will need to know the format that your phone can play with by checking tthemusic files in your phone. Go to music, click a track and go to the option ot the trackand click on details you will see the file type that your phone can be able to play with.

After you now know the file type of the phone, you will need a converter to convert the file type to your phone format..

You can download a converter from the below link:

Whenever i try to play a song on my phillips gogear vibe mp3 player it sais "file format not supported' and they are mp3 files. What gives?

"File format not supported" means that the song that you've downloaded into your MP3 player is NOT an .MP3 file format. For each MP3 player have their own supported file formats. You need to check the manual of your MP3 player to see what are the supported sound file formats (i.e. .mp3, .wma, .mp4). Then check the file format of the songs that are saved in your player.

If the songs are supported but you're still getting the error message, try to delete all the songs and then download the songs again and save it into your player. If the same problem occur, then it may need a firmware upgrade or reformat.

Thank you and good luck!

File format not supported...what does that mean

Not supported format concerns one or more of the next items:
  • size: the memory size of the file ( too small or too large)
  • layout: the size of a frame for video or photo, bitrate or identification tags for music,
  • extension: the suffix added after the dot file name
e.g. photo1.jpg or photo2.tif
  • digital rights management: copy protected files sometimes can
be played, but cannot be transferred mostly.

Media like photos and videos
1. Need to have the supported format as required for the software called "Media Converter" on the computer.
2. A Media Converter must be used to convert the format into a model that can be read on the player before it is accepted to do a transfer.

Music
1. Must have the supported format as required for the player.
The identification called ID-tag contains the name of the song, artist, album etc.
The bitrate of music says something about the quality / sample rate
of the song: when converting cd audio to e.g. song1.wav or song2.mp3
(called "ripping") the quality depends on the presettings of the audio
conversion.

Cannot transfre video files

when you connect this mp3 player it shows up in my computer as portable storage. Sony's website has a list of supported formats for this player and i usually convert using Handbrake to the ipod format or using wondershares video converter (it actually has a walkman setting). I then can drag it to the video folder and it plays flawlessly. The software i'm guessing you are talking about is the walkman media manager. When it loads click the film looking tab at the top for video. On the top of the bar to the left click the + symbol that shows add shortcut and find the folder with your media in it. Your files will start to show and if they aren't compatible they will have a red circle on them with a slash through it. If they don't have this you can right click them and select transfer. support site is http://esupport.sony.com/CA/perl/swu-list.pl?mdl=NWZA726
