Re: garmin nuvi 350 9 months old
Have you ever tried updating the firmware with garmins webupdater?
Have you had this issue with a fully charged battery.
Do you hear anything rattle in the device when you shake it....I had a spIII color with similar issues, found out that one of the circuit board mounting screws was travelling around in the case.
If this is the case, and you are tech savvy you could open the GPS and probably find the culprit. If not ship it back to Garmin, for it is still under warranty.

Make sure to flip your antenna horizontally or 90 degrees and not vertically or 180 dgrees. I see to many people try to use their older nuvi this way and it does not function well.
Try also updating your unit with the latest firmware from Garmin, this helps sometimes.
You may have moved to a location that is far away from the last location your Garmin nuvi 350 was last use, try to keep your unit on for 30 minutes or more to see if it will acquire GPS sattelites.
Last, certain vehicles have shielded windshields and GPS does not work well with these windshield, this can be eaisly verify by simply taking your nuvi 350 out of your vehicle and turn it on with a clear view to the sky, if that still does not work, it could be a defective GPS receiver or GPS connection in which case you should consider sending it in to Auto Nav 2000 Plus, Inc in San Jose CA or Garmin.
You may also consider replacing your nuvi 350 with a newer model nuvi with fresher map.
Please read the solution that resolved this problem for someone else. Most likely, you have already tried this. However, the antenna of your Nuvi 660 is the same as the 3xx Nuvi series. I know this because I have worked on them.
If the above procedure does not work for you, the entire antenna assembly will need to be replaced.
The other option is to purchase an external antenna for your Nuvi and plug it into the external antenna port (gold connector) on the Nuvi antenna assembly.
Update your unit. Garmin has this problem where you try to enter a location before it acquires satellites. It is very noticeable on the Garmin Nuvi 650 also. Another thing you can try is wait for it to acquire the satellite and see if you don't get up and running. In some cases, it can take up to 4 minutes to acquire satellite information. If this is also your case, updating the firmware to 6.10 should fix that also.
To find what your firmware version you have, click on the TOOLS icon (wrench), click on SYSTEM, ABOUT (bottom of your screen). Anything less than 6.1, you'll have issues.
There is currently an Update (Vers 5.10) available at Garmin.com Check only the Nuvi 350 click on it and the Nuvi 350 will appear. In the Upper Right Corner you will see a Category of Updates. Click on it and you will be advised that you need to Download UpDater. Do so, uncompress it, then attach your Nuvi to your computer and run Update. It's simple, just follow the instructions on the screen. However, it sometimes take a couple of tries before the Nuvi actually accepts and shows that it has been updated to Vers 5.10 I guess I was lucky. Mine accepted the new update with the 2nd install but it sometimes takes 4 or more. If you are uncomfortable with the foregoing or it doesn't work for you contact Technical support at Garmin. They are really helpful and you can e-mail them at firstname.lastname@example.org
