Ink system has failed. Error:0xc18a0001 my printer is HP Photosmart 8250All-in-One System Failure) I refer to printer documentation Error:0xc18a0001 Turn power off, then on again. I dId this command but...

Try taking out the cartridges, and turning off then unplugging the printer. Leave it unplugged for about five minutes, the plug it in. Wait a few more minutes, and turn it on. Wait for it to completely start up, then put the cartridges back in (make sure you are putting them in correctly, I think this is your product here). If it still shows the error, contact HP customer service. They will probably say something similar, though.

HP photosmart C5180 all in one: Ink system has failed

Here's a link to a procedure that one individual used to fix the same problem with his printer. I can't guarantee this will work in your particular case.

HP C5180 All-In-One Printer HARD RESET:
  1. Hold down HELP + OK button and unplug printer (could experiment with regular power-off, but I opted for brute force)
  2. Hold down HELP + OK button again as you plug the printer back in. Then power it on, if it doesn’t power on automatically. Be Safe: keep holding the buttons until the printer turns itself off. (It took mine less than a minute.)
  3. Now you can release the buttons and simply power it back on. (I held my breath, but that’s not required.)
    • I got an error message about “improper shut down” since I unplugged it w/out powering down. After I clicked “OK” the printer was just fine and didn’t mind anymore. And now I can print.

ERROR 0XC18A0001

Hi there,
Press the On button to turn off the printer.
Unplug the power cord and universal serial bus (USB) cable from the back of the printer.
Wait for 30 seconds.
Plug the power cord back into the printer.
Press the On button to turn the printer on.
If Ink system failure does not display, the issue is resolved; reconnect the USB cable and resume using the printer.

If the previous steps have not cleared the message, let us update the printer Firmware and check.

Please click on the below provided web link :

http://h10025.www1.hp.com

Once you open that web link, please follow the steps provided below :

Installation Instructions

1. Disconnect all other USB devices from the PC.

2. With the HP Photosmart 8250 series printer directly connected to the PC, click on "FirmwareEnable_Release.EXE"

3. If the ink system failure condition returns contact HP to service the printer.

Note: Do not use this patch if there is any visible ink around the product. In this case contact HP to service the printer.

This should resolve the issue.

Good Luck!!
