Same printer, same problem. Got it real cheap back in 2004 ($120 rebate) and have gone thru many cartridges and reams of paper. Just recently experiencing same problem. Have spent many more hours than warranted to get this up and running. I have cleaned all rubber, abd checked all moving parts for any binding. Same problem!!! If I hadn't just bought a brand new cartridge, it would be in the trash now. In truth, it soon will be. anyone need a new toner cart???

You could try cleaning the tires if you can get to them and check to see if there isn't any paper stuck in the paper path.

First, pull the tray out. Next, look for a WIDE rubber roller right in the middle of two smaller black rollers, that's the one you want to clean! Grab a lint-free rag (important!!), get some alcohol. Next, dampen the rag with the alcohol and start wiping across the wide roller so that when you rub your finger tip across it, your finger barley budges, this means it's completely clean. Now, here's the trick, there's a black, thin lever that hangs down on the left side under the bottom of the printer, this detects the paper level, it's hangs loosely and you can push it up easily with your finger. With the tray still pulled out, push the lever up so that the status light on the printer turns green. Now, if you're close enough to your computer, send one page to print while keeping that lever pushed in. What you want to do here is watch as that WIDE roller turns over to the other side where there is still dirt that needs to be cleaned off. You've got to be fast and time it right so that you can turn off the printer as the WIDE roller flips to the other side, cause once it gets there, you've got to turn the printer off to stop it dead in it's tracks. Getting another person to help would be best for this task. TRUST me, once you get that whole roller cleaned with alcohol, it works like brand new!! :)

Samsung 1710 stops before printing

to fix the problem you have to press the plate that the paper sits on down until it clicks into place once you do that it should work fine.

How do i get the paper out; it is jammed with 2 pieces.

With firm steady pressure pull the paper out. Take the paper tray out and see if its clear behind it . Open the rear feed and check it also. If necessary remove toner cartridge and check there.

ML-1710 Printer won't print

Our printer at work does this and I found that a piece of paper was stuck under the rollers. As soon as I removed it the paper went through. Another problem could be that you may need to FAN the paper and make sure the other side is feeding in first. Hope this help

Paper jam/lockup

Check to see if the egg-shaped rubber feed roller is cracked. (Pull out the paper tray, it's in the middle at the front on top.) That's what I'm looking for now on the ML-1740. Seems Samsung used cheap rubber for the roller. It should only be a $.50 part if you can find one.
