Hi,

If the camera is under warranty i advice you give it for service as this is a pretty complicated procedure to get it fixed.
This error is caused due to the failure of lens alignment system.Try following the procedure below..
it may be the lens contacts or grit in the gears..
open it up on the side of the lens you will see a row of thin gold colored contacts that report the lens position back to the cpu sometimes these get dirty or bent.on the side of the lens is a motor, look where the gear meets the lens and use a pin to flip out any grit that is stuck in the teeth.
Its very unlikely the lens is "out of alignment" this just cant happen unless its been dropped or bashed, in which case it may be broken.
Also i have heard some people bashing the camera a couple of times to get it working..
hold the camera and bash the edge next to the lens against the palm of you hand as hard as you can, This should work.

Goodluck,

Try blowing out the lens area out as there may be a small particle there and then bump it gently on the palm of your hand and then try pushing the lens back in. Take out the batteries and turn it on and see if it works. Let me know how this works. If it doesn't, then take out the outer screws and clean every internal part that moves. Let me know how this works out for you. good luck

Hi there!

Have you tried replacing the battery as a fist attempt?

Turn off before replacing.

I will check error codes for you....

Turn off, remove battery and memory card.

    Clean battery contacts with Qtip.

    Replace battery and memory card,

    Turn on to normal mode.

If you are still getting an error, try a fresh battery.

If this doesn't work, and it's out of warranty period, Kodak will charge $128 + shipping to repair it for you.

The chances are they will just mail you a replacement.

Was it dropped or got wet at all? If it has, let it dry out fully over several days, then try again.

Prognosis..........not good for this one. sorry.

    Hi again,

The code E45 is a shutter/ lens error.

Listen to the camera as it starts. Can you hear the motor trying to do something? If not, there probably is a dirty contact or something to that effect inside the case. So take it apart and see if you can fix it. If you can hear the motor going, start up the camera and push the lens back in. Likely something is causing the lens not to retract (sand or something who knows). Pushing or pulling on the lens should dislodge it and get your camera working again.

    Hope this helps you.

ERRORE E 45

Hello and Welcome to FixYa!

E45 error message sometimes means that the lens is misaligned, This error is also may be due to failure of the control system.
To solve this follow the given solution:
You can remove battery and card replace battery and while switching on tap the lens hood on your hands so as to disengage any dirt or mechanism being struck.
Use some air to blow between the lens to dislodge any sand particles struck inside. If none of these works then you can think of taking consensus with the service center.
You must keep in mind that to open the camera without good experience is not recommended and might tamper the delicate unit so best option is to Contact Kodak to see if your camera is still under warranty, otherwise contact any Kodak Cameras service provider, your problem will be solved.

I hope this solution helps you

How to fix error E45 on a Kodak V570? my camera stop functioning and only "Camera error E45" on the screen, all buttons and do not respond, only on/off button is working.

Hi,

The bad news is that this error means the lens alignment of your camera is messed up and it will take repair service to fix it. The cost of this might be equivalent to replacing the camera.

Thank you !!

Camera locked - camera error #E45

Hi

www.Kodak.com says:
"E45" appears on your camera's display when your camera requires service or repair.

I think it is a lens error. They have a page on www.kodak.com called Step-by-Step Solutions and Repair. This is for USA only.
See what they suggest.

I may be cheaper just to get a new camera.

Hope this helps.

I have kodak ls443 get error message camera error e45 and it says see users guide. i have looked in users guide but cannot find andy info re error e45

Hello

Firstly, at the link below you can download a updated softcopy of the manual for free.

http://www.retrevo.com/s/Kodak-LS443-Digital-Cameras-review-manual/id/200dj378/t/1-2/

As for the error code you are getting, "error 45" is a lens related problem of LS443.

If the lens is not stuck, you may try to download the firmware from the Kodak site and update the one in your camera.

As the lens is already stuck, there is no choice except to send the camera back to Kodak for servicing.

Hope this can steer you in the right direction.

Kind regards
Andrea

Error E45

Turn your camera on and smack the camera against your hand. The E45 error means your lens is stuck. The lens on my V603 was stuck open, when I smacked it against my hand it closed and now works fine. Give that a shot.
