you have to download complete Office 2007 and to do a custom installation removed other application and let just Word
but if you get trouble start from the beginning and choose typical installation after this one is finished, run setup again and chose modify, removed other application and you are done!

Well you can download another trial version from microsoft website. If you had a student version, try to unistall that version and then install the trial version for office professional office 2007 or standard 2007
Try removing and then reinstall it again, the cause may be due to some file corruption causing the application to malfunction, Also Scan your system for any virus infection with some good antivirus software.
its because ur trial version as expired and its in reduce functionality mode ....... you need purchase office from Microsoft to use all the features .......
