Deleted games from xp

Someone doing an optimization on my computer deleted the games like spider, solitaire, etc. Is there any way to recover or reinstall these?

I've tried this more than a dozen times to no avail. It's a complete mystery why they're not there anymore and why following the above instructions hasn't worked, but I'm so frustrated as I miss my solitaire fix. I refuse to pay to download someone else's version as I should be able to add it, but can't seem to make it happen. I've searched the internet repeatedly and the only advice is similar to this. It seems mine is the only machine in the world experiencing this problem! Argh!

Yes.

go into the control panel.

Select add or remove programs.

Select add/remove windows components.

Select accessories/Utilites.

Press the check box for games.

Press ok.

You may need a Windows XP cd if it asks for one.

Good luck.

Hi,

You can use "Add or Remove Programs" to re-install your default windows games, I hope this procedure can help you, its under windows XP Home or Professional.

1. Go to START
2. Click CONTROL PANEL
3. Then select ADD OR REMOVE PROGRAMS
4. A new Windows will appear, look for the ADD/REMOVE WINDOWS COMPONENTS.
5. Click Accessories & Utilities, make sure it has CHECK mark.
6. Click on DETAILS
7. Place a CHECK mark on GAMES, then click OK
8. Then click NEXT, additional programs will be installed.

see if the games were back already.

Hi,
a 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
the service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.
goodluck!
