Question about GE WHRE5260E Top Load Washer
This is a symptom of a pressure switch problem. Open the console and double check the pressure switch (located behind the water level knob) and make sure the rubber hose is still attached. In many case, this hose vibrates loose and comes off the pressure switch. Without the hose attached, the pressure switch never senses the change in pressure from the wash tub required for it to be shut off. The end result: your washer continually fills without shutting off. If it is a simple hose problem, you can prevent this from reoccurring by placing a small zip tie around the air hose at the point where it attaches to the pressure switch. Do not over-tighten as you may damage the switch fitting. Just make it snug.
If the air hose is still attached, and the electrical connections are still attached, replace the pressure switch. I could not find a part number with the model number you listed this under. Please double check you model number again and post back, so I can assist you finding the correct part (if needed). I hope this helps you. Let me know if you have further questions.

I recently had the same problem. I checked the end of the air hose coming from the tub. It had a tear in it right at the connection. I just cut off the hose at the tear and placed the hose back on the connection.

Same problem. At first I had to drop from super to large and now the large overflowed. Hose was connected to the pressure switch but I tried blowing in it and it was restricted. I pulled the front cover and found the other end of the hose. It was clogged with 2" of dirt. I scrapped it out and it's fine now. Cleaning this tube will need a 6 month PM schedual to prevent future damage to my home from over spills.
