    The computers get slow to

start and to shut down or hibernate. When shutting down the screen changes from colour to B&W .

I have NOD 32 Running to get the viruses.

I did try Uniblue Registry Booster 2.

But it didn't give an improvement despite Reporting that it fixed hundreds of faults.

Problem on Fujitsu Siemens Scale P and Stylistic and lo lessen extent on an olden Dell that is usually only used for backup and a plotter driver.

I have had this or similar problems in the past and it was only solved by buying a new machine. I have asked many, times for advice and paid for advice without getting a solution.

This is a very common problem. It happens more to those that frequently install and delete programs. Many fragments are left over that slow the computer and cause various problems including those you mention. I agree with a previous answer that re-installing windows helps, but even better is to format the hard disc after saving files and reinstall all programs. Easier said than done!

I think the only way to fix it is to reinstall Windows.

Slow internet

Slow internet connections happen for various reasons, even when you pay for a 'high speed connection'like DSL or cable.Because the internet (and World Wide Web) is built on hundreds of different technologies trying to talk to each other, there are many places where data can slow down before its reaches your computer screen. Your ISP (Internet Service Provider) might be at fault, certainly, but there are many other factors to look at before assigning blame. Some of these slow points are within your control, and can be quickly fixed with a little do-it-yourself effort:-

- Refresh your internet connection
- Shutdown your router for minimum 10 minutes so that your back end IP can be change by service provider
- Remove your Temporary files from your system
- Try to use Reginout for constantly refreshing internet connections

Tip

Computer is running slow..........

Ok, so you turn on your computer....by the time it starts, Bill Gates is broke (Which is exactly 4 days after the Earth crashes into the Sun) Aside from a viral infection, there is a simple reason for this. Every time you download some new program or file, it attaches itself to your start up menu. For example, you just installed the latest "Free Movie Viewer". During the install you had to agree to disclaimers....one of these was to "Add to startup menu" or something similar. If you've had your computer for a year, you have a lot of stuff starting....what's that? You're computer's 4 years old? LOL! Tis ok my friend. Here's a simple solution. Rent one of those HUGE electromagnet cranes.....hover it over your hard drive.....wait...NO! Here's what to do! Left click on "Start" on the bottom left hand of your screen ....left click...move your cursor to "RUN"...left click...erase whatever is in the field type "msconfig". omit the quotes... click on the startup tab. Disable all but your anti-virus. This will make your computer start faster.

Slow computer shutdown

Tip #1: Cut down of the programs and processes running in the background.--When you start your computer many unnecessary processes are loaded. You can eliminate this by managing your msconfig.

Here is how:
1. Open your Start menu.
2. Click Run
3. In the command screen type "msconfig.exe"
4. In the system configuration utility, click either service or startup tab.
5. Uncheck all programs that your are no longer want to run in the background.
6. Click OK

Tip #2: Defrag your Computer--The faster your computer can find files the quicker it can shutdown. A very slow computer shutdown can be the result of your hard drive trying to search for disorganized and fragmented files that it needs for shutdown . Organize your hard drive by performing a defragmentation.
Here is how:
1. Open the Start Menu
2. Click on My Computer
3. Right Click your C: drive or your hard drive image.
4. Scroll down to the Properties and Click
5. In the Properties Menus, Open the Tools menu.
6. Choose Defragment Now.
7. In the Disk Deframenter menu. Click on Defragment

Tip #3: Clean your Registry- Usually slow computer shutdown often occurs due to a corrupted registry. You should perform a registry clean, use RegInOut to fix this issue instantly.

My pc is very low.I need fix

Slow PC does not mean it has problem only with motherboard. Speed of the PC also depend on the following factors :
  1. Processor
  2. RAM
  3. Virtual memory
  4. Operatin system
  5. Video graphics card
To fix the problem you should first check which type of processor is used in you PC. Is it pentium4, Dual core, Core 2 duo or core 2 quad ? Core 2 quad is much faster if used with 4 GB RAM. RAM is also the cause to slow the PC. If you are using less RAM automatically your PC will be slow. So use RAM higher i.e 2 GB or more.
Virtual memory does not have much impact on speed but it is also a factor to slow down the PC. But if you can correct any of the three parts then no need to check virtual memory.
If you are using operating system like Vista then computer may be slow. Instead use XP professional, Windows 7.
If your PC doesn't have graphics card then it will be slow while playing games, watching videos. So if you are a game lover then change your graphics card with higher value such as 2 GB or more.
If you will fix these problems then you can speed up your PC

Toshiba 2435 s255 notebook shutsdown and fan runs on high speed

Overheating problem is caused by faulty fan and or the fan and heat-sink assembly is clogged with dust.
When the CPU overheats, it goes into thermal shutdown and won't boot up again until the CPU has cooled down. If this problem is not fixed, eventually the CPU will fail completely. The fan must spin freely, if not replace the faulty fan.
Check the fan and heat-sink and loosen and vacuum/remove the dust from the fan and heat-sink assembly. Depending upon the model of your Toshiba, the fan can be accessed from the bottom of the laptop or you may need to remove the keyboard to get at the fan and heat-sink.

My computer is really slow going into differnt sites....the compressor fan is slow to start up...had my computer stripped down and tuned up, but it's still slow...they said the cpu is showing its age,...

Your computer going slow could be for the following reasons: 1 Not enough RAM - remove unwanted files by cleaning the disc. Also defragment the computer. Increase the RAM 2 Virus - remove the virus 3 If you do the above you will see the improvement and no need to have a new cpu
