I have a Sony KP-57HW40 and have the same problem. After a storm, it has a blue screen and shuts off with the the continuous series of six flashes from the red standby light. What is code 4? Is this done when the set is in service mode?

A1: There are 12 models in total: KDP57XBR2, KDP65XBR2, KP46WT500, KP51HW40, KP51WS500, KP57HW40, KP57WS500, KP57WV600, KP57WV700, KP65WS500, KP65WV600 and KP65WV700.
Yes, you are correct on the phrasing. The CRT's were a common issue with these units and all three must be replaced as sooner or later the green will follow the other two CRT's. It was a great model and had a beautiful picture when operating normally. The CRT's are costing about 200 each for rebuild as the green and blue are mostly no longer available. Your repair cost are going to approach $1000.00 or more.
