I replaced the fuse only to have it blow again as soon as I turned it on. I think that there is a short in the power supply circuit?

  • wfsmalt56 Jun 13, 2008

There is no blinking. The fuse looks like it exploded inside. The new one I put in did the same. The TV is plugged directly into the wall.

I replaced the fuse with another but it blew immediatlely, looks like it exploded insdie so does that mean there is a short? Where do I go from here?

Yes, this model does have an internal, high voltage AC inline fuse.

There are many fuses within the unit. Is there anything at all that may suggest what happened? Any blinking or noises when you try to turn it on?

Most likely that is the problem, how do you have it plugged in? With a surge protector or directly into the wall?

Something in the power supply is mostly causing this, use the following link to narrow it down better by testing components with an ohm meter. I think that you should probably just replace the power supply but test everything that is said to be tested in the following link if you are able. Let me know if you have any questions while doing this.

Won't power on

Check your power outlet for any loose contacts and ensure there is power. Try connecting the TV to a different power outlet.

Switch off TV manually, switch off power, remove plug and retry after 48 hours.

If problem persists, please refer it to a qualified service technician.

Please if power light does not come on follow power cord inside (set unplugged) to the main fuse that the cord goes directly to.

Won't turn on/no power. Worked fine until i turned it off as usual, went to turn it on, no power either from "ON" button or remote. wall outlet works fine, tried it in other outlets, no luck.

Well, I used to be an authorized Apex repair center and absolutly could not get a part for a tv. You may just have a bad H.O.T. ( horizontal ouput transistor) which is what I needed. I don't even know if they are still in business. Good luck.

TV loses power

Sounds like it maybe a heating up issue? Do you have it in an enclosed space with very little ventilation? These models don't like heat.
