I was wondering what is the life span on these shredders? Also the worth of a used one? I'm looking at buying one that is about I think 6 years old, what would that be worth? Also when did they first make the 480 model. How often do you have to replace the cutters? Any help I would appreciate.

- how often should you replace the cutters? I would say it was used average. Just want to get an idea how long they last and the value of a 6 year old 480???

The 480 is a high end shredder but most of your questions depend on the load it has been under for the 6 years. I would check the cutters for wear before buying.

- If the cutters can cut say 20 to 25 pages easily then the cutters are still in good shape for another 5 to 6 years with average daily use. The cost of a used 6 year old 480 can be from 600 to 800 dollars. But again all this is speculative and dependent on several factors.
