Try using a card reader to upload them to a folder you create on your desktop. From there, You should be able to import them to any program you wish. I have a canon powershot - ccfcfd9.jpg

Can't upload video from camera to pc Olympus TOUGH TG-310 Digital Camera

Do you have Windows Live Photo Gallery? It comes with Windows 7, but if not you can download it here: http://windows.microsoft.com/en-US/windows-live/photo-gallery-get-started
  1. Open Windows Live Photo Gallery
  2. Connect your camera
  3. Click the Import icon in the top left corner.
  4. Select your Olympus and click import. It should import both photos and videos.

You can also try and select the videos you want using the file download module Windows displays when a new device is plugged in. If that doesn't work, try
  1. Start > Computer > Olympus Tough TG-310
  2. Then open the folders until you find the videos you want. Select them and copy them to your desktop (or any other preferred location).
I have had video issues with my Olympus TOUGH (could not delete them from the camera) which turned out to be a formatting problem with the memory card.

How do I transfer pictures from my Windows Live Photo Gallery to Facebook

Hi Thomas:
Live Upload is a new add-in for Windows Live Photo Gallery that lets you upload pictures from the desktop on to your Facebook account(s).

This is very useful if you have multiple accounts on Facebook and need to share the same set of photographs across both your Facebook accounts.

For instance, both you and your wife may have separate accounts on Facebook but need to share that same set of vacation pictures with your own circle of private Facebook friends. Why duplicate the work when you can upload pictures and videos to both albums in one go.

Once you install the Facebook plugin, select the pictures you want to send to Facebook and then choose "Live Upload to Facebook" from the Publish menu.

Windows Live Gallery already supports publishing photos to Flickr and with this plug-in, you can easily share the same photos across both Flickr and Facebook. It will also transfer the associate people tags with your photos.

Hope this helps; also keep in mind that your feedback is important and I'll appreciate your time and consideration if you leave some testimonial comment about this answer.

Thank you for using Fixya, and have a nice day

I have a canon powershot A700 digital camera. I just purchased a Dell mini laptop computer and can't find software to support the canon download. How do I download my pictures on my mini with windows 7...

The driver is included in the OS; see the Microsoft compatibility site at http://www.microsoft.com/windows/compatibility/windows-7/en-us/Details.aspx?type=Hardware&p=Canon%20PowerShot%20A700%206MP%20Digital%20Camera&v=Canon&uid=1100B001&l=en-US&pf=0&pi=0&s=powershot%20A700&os=64-bit for details.

The Canon site has the ZoomBrowser EX software for Win7 here: http://www.usa.canon.com/cusa/support/consumer/digital_cameras/powershot_a_series/powershot_a700#ServiceAndSupport if you need it. Just select your version of Win7 (32- or 64-bit).

You should be able to use Paint to import pictures from your camera. (Start > All Programs > Accessories > Paint. Then File > Import from Camera or Scanner > From Camera )

The Microsoft Live Photo Gallery also will also provide this option if you download the package.

I hope this helps.

Unable to import photos to laptop

Try NOT connecting your camera to your computer.

The best way to download pictures from your camera to your computer involves removing the memory card from the camera and plugging it into a card reader (either built-in to the computer or connected via USB or FireWire). This is likely to be faster than connecting the camera to the computer, and won't run down your camera's batteries.

Once the card is plugged in, it will appear to your computer as a removable drive. You can use the operating system's drag&drop facility to copy pictures from the card to the computer's hard drive, the same way you copy any other files. Or you can use any photo cataloging program, such as Windows Photo Gallery or Picasa.

Will not scan to computer

Hi,
The all in one solution software you used in XP doen't work with Vista.

But you can still scan and copy by using Windows Photo Gallery.

1. Click on files tab at the top in Window Photo Gallery.
2. Click on import from camera or scanner.
3. Highlight your scanner icon (ie Canon MP600) then click import.
4. New scan window will popup, now you can preview or scan using this basic looking Vista utility.

Hope that helps.

I can't load new pics onto Windows Vista Photo Gallery anymore...

I finally figured it out. Somehow I had messed with the Autoplay settings uploading pics the last time I guess. Anyways, if you experience this problem, check this out first and see if it fixes it for you before you do anything else:

gl_arrow_down_static.gif What if the import dialog box doesn't appear? If the dialog box prompting you to import your pictures doesn't appear when you connect the camera to your computer, AutoPlay might be turned off. You can import your pictures using Windows Photo Gallery instead. Here's how:
1. Open Windows Photo Gallery by clicking the Start button getopencontent.aspx?assetid=4f6cbd09-148c-4dd8-b1f2-48f232a2fd33&documentset=en-us&renderkey=xml, clicking All Programs, and then clicking Windows Photo Gallery.
2. On the toolbar, click File, and then click Import from Camera or Scanner.
3. In the Import Pictures and Videos dialog box, choose your camera from the list of devices, and then click Import.
gl_alert_vert.png gl_icon_tip.png If you prefer, you can turn on AutoPlay or set AutoPlay to automatically import pictures from a digital camera. For more information, see Change AutoPlay Settings. gl_alert_vert.png gl_alert_bg_tip.png

Downloading Movies

What type of software are you using for download?

If you use Picasa to manage all of your photo albums on your PC including album management, print, sharing, editing (enhance, red eye removal etc) it will take care of the import process for both photos and videos.

Once the video has been import you can easily upload it from Picasa to Google Video, email it or post to a blog.
